The second mortification soon followed. The meeting ended without a word out of America. But England's ear perks when she hears her name in a hushed tone as France stopped his American lover and asked him, “So are England and you an item now?”
Butterflies grew in her stomach. “Yeah?” America replied, his answer more like a question. “Yeah, we’re going out now, we started yesterday.” France apparently isn’t as taken back with America’s indifferent attitude as England is because he bursts out in a fit of laughter, obviously assuming something perverted.

Morning light shined in her eyes, forcing her awake, and fuck if England managed to get any decent sleep.
Really… what on earth was wrong with him?
Was it something she did? England began losing confidence in herself and drearily crawled out of bed. He’s been acting like this for weeks. Was America just no longer interested in her?
She doesn’t feel like getting up today, but there’s a world meeting and like always, she had to attend. Getting ready had never been a bigger chore.
No one else had arrived yet.
Apparently, the sun had woken her up early. Well, that wasn’t unusual, seeing as how she always was the first one to arrive to meetings in the first place but it would’ve been nice to be at home, curled up in bed by now.
A book laid hazardously on the table and being as tidy as she was, England goes over to put it up until the first paragraph catches her eye.

I can't believe I missed it. It didn't feel rushed, it felt happy and d'aww Iggy. I love how we see it all through her point of view; I love how she constructs these elaborate scenarios in her head and is left floundering when it doesn't go according to plan; I love the real affection you can feel from both of them.
