The other side of Cold War paranoia

When people talk about Cold War paranoia, they seem to only ever talk about America's side of things...but it really went both ways. There was a great deal of anxiety in the USSR about the Americans working to destroy them, spying on them, etc...pretty much the same things Americans feared from the Soviets.
We've seen plenty ultra paranoid Cold War America. I want to see ultra paranoid Cold War Russia.
Bonus: One story going around was that the Americans had a device that let them listen in on conversations by deciphering the vibrations that voices made on glass. So how about Russia being really nervous about saying anything when he's near glass, since America might be listening.
