canada and america find themselves a long time in the past (see viking age). they end up meeting the nordics at the time, who are at the height of their power...and act like pitiless conquerors. surprisingly, and not surprisingly, canada and america actually manage to survive in that time and be seriously badass. they swing the broadswords easily and with skill and they aren't the spoiled brats that much of the old world thinks they are (they can live without modern comfort thank you very much. indoor plumbing and cars are nice but they won't die without them)
