They lay like that a moment, before Alfred finally caught his breath, and spoke softly in her ears.

“So, I assume you like this form of payment?”

He waited, listening to her breathing, rapidly slowing, and heard nothing, so assumed she was asleep. But as he felt himself drifting off to sleep, she spoke; almost so quietly, he could barely hear her.

“Is this how you pay everyone that helps you?”

He said nothing at first, pondering a response, before kissing her forehead.

“You’re the only one that accepts my hugs, aren’t you? You’re… different.”

She wondered about this and what could it mean, if it meant anything. Her mind was too hazy at the moment to think too much. So Mei shrugged and closed her eyes, willing herself to sleep there in his arms.

But not before she heard him say, “You’ll help me again when I need, right?”

She smiled and nodded, her mind already wandering to a dreamland filled with many thoughts of him.

I can't tell if this is positive or negative, it all depends on your definition of leer.
