One day Lithuania takes some bad advice from Poland saying he should just grow a set of balls and defend himself the next time Belarus lashes at him. By this point in time, Liet still has strong feelings for her, but is no longer in denial of her cruel nature.

He ends up really losing it and instead of restraining her, physically hurts her (Not enough to make her cry or knock her unconscious, since this is Belarus we're talking about here, but enough to startle her.), overcome with a repressed anger towards the situation he's in (Past abused by Russia, in love with a woman who treats him like dirt etc. I can imagine all those issues have complicated Lithuania greatly.). He comes to his senses, but not before Belarus runs off and avoids everyone, hidden away in her house
