Exactly like the title says. Two people who used to know each other under better circumstances and in better times, who used to hate each other, now come together to help each other out, in the long dark years under Soviet rule. Smut or friendship, is up to anon

After the Berlin Wall falls, does Gilbert just float around nationless or does he become Kaliningrad Oblast? I feel it's the latter because East Prussia's capital was Konigsberg, which Russia later renamed Kaliningrad. Also, Prussia was famous for being a military state, while Kaliningrad Oblast today is the most militarized part of Russia. Finally, even though most Germanics have been expelled from the area, there are still about 8000 left, which explains why Gilbert is still around.
If this is the case, then Gilbert is the last guy remaining with Russia after the Soviet Union falls. But since Russia has calmed down a lot, it can still be a happy ending. ^__^

I just read an awesome Russia/Prussia fill last night from part 9 in which Prussia actually becomes the Kaliningrad Oblast and lives with Russia, perhaps you are the same writer of that? ^__

This other anon is a fan of Kaliningrad!Prussia, and I tend to go with Prussia either always been Kaliningrad after WW2 and never East Germany or Russia signs over Kaliningrad to Prussia later, before that it was just a part of Russia.
And now anon responds!

Nope. I didn't write that. I actually haven't written anything here yet except comments.... and two requests I made yesterday. I just think about this kind of stuff a lot and want to make sure characters make sense without spending a ton of time writing a fill. And to me, it doesn't make sense that Prussia would still be around after 1989 unless he now represents something else. Otherwise he would've disappeared like Rome. Kaliningrad Oblast is the only place I can think of that could work, even if there are inconsistencies like existing alongside East Germany

Yay! If you do decide to take this up, I will be so very happy! :D That's an interesting point, right, Prussia didn't disappear like the Roman Empire- so that must mean that he's represented in some way. Awesome idea. I have Eastern European ancestors too! Let's both celebrate! Friendship is okay with me. Good luck with your college stuff. I'll be waiting patiently. ^__^ <3 Oh, and Happy Valentine's Day!
