Please don't take my sunshine away.

Anon has been having a few crappy weeks lately, and wants a pick me up. SO! My request to you, dear anons, is a fic where one nation sings "You Are My Sunshine," to another nation. They could be comforting them, or trying to show affection, or perhaps even attempting to woo the other. Really, you can take this as you want anon. Angst, hurt and comfort, fluff, proper romance, comedy, whatever. I just want a little bit of that sunshine.
Multiple fills are totally fine, by the way. Also- it doesn't matter if it's human or nation names.
BONUS: My favorite pairings are PrussiaCanada, SpainRomano, UKUS, RussiaAmerica, RussiaCanada, AmericaCanada, HollandCanada, KoreaCanada (my my, I just like Canada with everyone! XD; ) SwedenFinland, SwitzerlandLiechtenstein, GermanyItaly, and PolandLithuania. So if you could do one of those, that would be great, but really, I'll take any pairing at all. It'd be nice, but not at all needed to make me the happiest anon ever.

"Fucking rain." Yong-soo muttered with a cigarette between his teeth. "Can't get this thing to light." He fiddles with the wood match, rubbing it against the side of its package. "Fuck!" He hisses, throwing the match on the muddy ground. "It's wet

Research shows that recordings went back to the 1930s and earlier. I don't know when it got popular enough for it to be sung around like that, but hey, it's fiction for a reason.
Taken place during the Korean War. Canada sent the third largest amount of troops to Korea.
The lyrics were taken from a Johnny Cash version that I just used out of whim. Upon research, I predict his popularity didn't hit until later, or around. But I like his version, and really, all the versions are very similar.
If you read the lyrics, it's actually, kinda, depressing. Which is why I cut the brightest sound snippets out and placed them here. I think it's about heartbreak (maybe it isn't...yeah).

Aw... I can see the appeal of Canada/Korea now. It's not often that I see a sardonic Korea on the kink meme, or even one who smokes, for that matter (that is irrevocably in my head canon, given how many Koreans smoke...) and yay for more Korean War interactions with Korea and other countries. ^_^
Hm. There are some elements of sadness to the song, yes, if you look at some of the other lyrics.
"You are my sunshine/my only sunshine/ you make me happy/ when skies are gray/you'll never know, dear,/how much I love you./Please don't take/my sunshine away."
"The other night, dear,/ as I lay sleeping,/I dreamed I held you/in my arms./When I awoke, dear,/I was mistaken/and I held my head/and cried."
"I'll always love you/and keep you happy/if you'll only say the same/but if you leave me/to love another/you'll regret it all someday."
*hugs* Thank you so much, anon! This fill made me smile so much. It's like you just plucked my head cannon for these two right out of my brain and put them on the page. And thank you for picking these two- Korea doesn't get a lot of love in the kink meme, and the Korean war even less. <3 To be embarrassingly honest, I'd never heard the second two verses of the song before, though I knew there were more. But you make it work so well in the story!
Thanks again, anon. This is pretty much the best way I could think of to start off my day. :D
No problem! This is pretty much the first thing I had in mind and wrote it down immediately. I'm glad it made your day, which was pretty much all I wished for :)

This is such a beautiful fill. And historical, as well, which is always a nice touch. I never even thought Korea/Canada before, and here it is written so wonderfully. In short, thank you, thank you, thank you author!anon.
asdkfalksdjflaskdjflaskdf<3 THIS IS SO CUTE. LIKE OH SNAP. I literally started flailing (like waving my arms and hands around like a total idiot) at just how sweet this was. And I just love the fact that it was Sweden who was singing. Oh Su-san, why so adorkable?
*hugs Anon* Thank you for writing this. I hope that whatever is making you sad gets resolved soon! <3
My Sunshine Hates Me

Antonio tuned his guitar, which was hard to do since the sun had set quite a while ago. Once it sounded like he had it close to perfect, he began picking and strumming out the melody while staring up at the lighted window.
"Lovino!" He called. No one came to the window, but Antonio pretended someone was listening anyway as he sang, "You are my sunshine, my only sunshine. You make me happy when skies are gray."
The curtain moved aside and Lovino appeared at the window. "What the hell are you doing down there?" He barked, leaning out and squinting into the darkness.
"I came to serenade you!" Antonio called back.
"Go home!" The Italian shouted, shutting the curtains with a snap. A couple moments later the light went out.
Antonio played softly and whispered up to the window, "You'll never know dear, how much I love you. Please don't take my sunshine away." With a sigh, he shifted the guitar to hang on his back and walked off in the balmy night.
FFFFFFF- Anon, are you trying to DROWN me in SQUEE? Because you're doing one freaking good job of it. I flailed. Again. XD And the title, oh! It makes me laugh and want to hug poor Antonio. Lovino, why so tsundere? Can't you see there's a super hot Spaniard just waiting for you? Oh well. S'kinda why I love these two, haha. Thank you so much for the double fill! These really helped to cheer me up. *hugs*
Oh whoa. Oblivious anon apparently can't read clues either. I should have realized you meant the disorder and not the emotion. Not only did you put it in all caps, but one of my friends mother has it. Way to fail, self. Way to fail. XD And I agree that the more northern nations would be pretty prone to it. I dunno why I never really thought about it much before, but it's totally my head cannon now. :D

fail!filler anon here hoping that this doesn't suck too much. As much as I love UK/US, the song, according to my knowledge, originated from the US and anon has a weakness for loving!Alfred. Hope OP would like it, even if only a little bit. It's another night, another movie playing on the screen of America's flat screen television. The voices of the actors onscreen are hushed and urgent, mumbling about some conspiracy or another, tongues tripping over vowels and mispronouncing words so very often that England’s fingers twitch reflexively to hear it. He’s not really paying attention to the movie actually; not in the way America is, staring wide-eyed and slacked jaw, breath bated in his throat. One of America's hands is slung precariously over England’s shoulders, while his feet are on top of the coffee table, socks bunching up and wrinkling over where America’s toes are wriggling. England thinks he should complain about this, but he doesn’t, because technically speaking, England's feet are somewhat on the table too
( ... )
Oh anon, I don't mind it at all! Personally I end up flipping those two around a lot anyways so yeah. No biggie~
And this is just so incredibly sweet! laksdjflaskasdlfkajsdlfj *flail* <3 I love your writing style and descriptions- it really works well with the atmosphere of this piece. And the beginning, where Arthur was getting all annoyed over the grammar and such had me laughing so hard! And then the ending was just so... lovely, yeah, that's the word. Lovely.
