you know what would be interesting? for the countries to go into periods where they reflect their cultural masters, like canada isolating himself in the middle of nowhere and paint/go insane or america locking himself up and drinking nonstop and writing. or anything of the variety really.

Thy soul shall find itself alone 'Mid dark thoughts of the grey tomb-stone; Not one, of all the crowd, to pry Into thine hour of secrecy.There was always something so calming about the night, how it wrapped around him like a dark blanket when he was in the blackest of his moods. How wonderfully it soothed and conquered the negative thoughts that only he could conjure! He loved the way the stars dotted the night sky, how the moon fit just right on that point in the horizon, how the breeze picked up just enough to brush by his cheek and assure him that everything was going to be just as fine as it was the night before. America really did love those sorts of nights

What could have brought him here? America wasn’t one to drink; in fact he still tried to cling on to the long dead Puritan values, when he felt lost enough to want to be comforted by anything. But the feeling was there, the need to feel the burn of alcohol as it traveled down his throat and into his gut
