Queen Elizabeth I sometimes slept in the same bed with one particular female servant (can't remember her name, unfortunately) for "warmth". Of course castles of that era were incredibly chilly at winter, and the taboos of the time were somewhat different from ours, so it's possible for a modern reader of these accounts to read a bit too much into the matter.
I don't even remember where I read this, but suggestive paragraph is suggestive...

Elizabeth sighed but remained wordless. It became more and more difficult now to view the queen in midst of a fawning crowd of false admirers. England gritted her teeth most behind an ostrich feather fan but at least when she wore doublets she could dance attendance more visibly with her queen. A victory laurel was in the fact that none of those men would ever touch Elizabeth, glorious Elizabeth, like this ( ... )

Oh Wow!!!!! To be honest I wasn't really expecting much, but this just blew me away ♥

I adored the mention of witchcraft because those days might have been a bad time to be a supernatural being. Not OP BTW ♥♥♥♥♥

Wow, that was great; wonderfully written, with beautiful words and an interesting concept of both characters. Very lovely, I couldn't have wished for anything more ^^
