USUK Bruises anonymous March 27 2010, 05:53:35 UTC
USUK (preferably that order)
US doesn't seem to have the best self control and I think that would carry over to the bedroom. I want America feeling guilty because leaving bruises on your sweetheart doesn't exactly scream heroic. UK would definitely not be bothered by the bruises at all so unbothered in fact that it can only be taken as encouraging.

The day had shown all signs of starting off great and continuing on the same track. Alfred woke up to the sun on his pillowcase and Arthur's sleep-warm body loose and pliant next to him, one arm thrown over Arthur's waist. It was exactly his favorite way to wake up, and he grinned into the pillowcase. Maybe today Arthur could actually go out for hot dogs in the park with him over lunch, and they could wander around in the sun dripping ketchup all over their shoes and he could flirt outrageously and watch Arthur's cheeks turn palest pink, belying his storm of sarcastic retorts. Awesome.Arthur muttered something and rolled over to kiss Alfred's cheek, then disentangled himself from all of Alfred's limbs and headed off towards the shower. Alfred watched him go, sleepily appreciative, until he noticed the bruises and scrape marks scattered all across Arthur's body like a map: Alfred Was Here. A thousand little claims to dominance and he'd never meant to leave them, never thought of relationships as some kind of conquest, but there they ( ... )

Alfred fit his fingers into one set of bruises and bit his lip. I already have, he wanted to scream, I already have, look. And then there was the politics of it: could anyone really just say no to America? Did Arthur worry, if he ever said to stop, that Alfred might bring it into world politics, might raise tariffs or something in retaliation ( ... )

OP here, thank you writer!anon

This was perfect, exactly what I was hoping for, I especially love this line.

"Alfred, since when have I ever been bad at informing anyone of my displeasure when they do something I dislike?"

it just captures Arthur perfetly

Holy freaking d'awwww!

This fill was beyond sweet and perfectly worded.

Another anon seconded! That sentence got me running around d'awing and melting into a puddle of goo. 8D

This is oh so sweet and IC! Writer!Anon. Though Alfred felt guilty about leaving bruises on his sweetheart, am I the only one who thought Arthur secretly cherished all those bruises? tokens of love, anyone?

Recaptcha: is checkout. WHAT

W-Why do I love this so much? *starry eyes* D'awwww!!! That was adorable!!
I really liked it. :3
That was... so strangely IC for them both.

The Chicagoan inherent in this Chicago!anon, however, is quite irritated with her country for putting ketchup on his hotdogs. Tsk tsk, Alfred! What has gotten into you?! Everyone knows Chicago-style hotdogs are the best, and it's just blasphemy to put ketchup on a Chicago 'dog. *snobby voice* Alfred, I deny your blasphemy!

*cough* On the (very-blindingly-)bright side, however, I must say that this is one of the more IC USUK fills out there. Usually I'm rather hesitant to read USUK, simply because some writernons have a tendency to twist their personalities/characteristics a bit too much. Like, a little overboard with the artistic license. And that irks me. :/
But your fill made me oh-so-happy! YAY FOR AWESOME WRITER-NONS!!

I completely love the fact that you dragged politics into it

and I could almost cry at how in character they are

"It's gonna be an great day, socks," he said, "so let's get started. Now if I can only find two of you that look the same..."

This, anon, is perhaps my favorite Alfred line in any fanfic ever. And I read ALOT of fanfic. It's so ridiculously in-character and dorky/sweet/glass-half-full just like I think America should be.
