(Isn't it interesting that England is claiming the special relationship is over at almost the exact same time that America's relationship with Russia is taking a huge turn for the better?)
The 'special relationship' has always been back and forth, it's breaking up today and 'stronger than ever' tomorrow, and this time when England says it's through (for the hundredth time), America's just annoyed and sick of it. So right after the break up, he asks Russia on a date (to a restaurant England just so happens to frequent) and proceeds to be really aggressively affectionate with Russia where England can see them to make him jealous.
Bonus: It works. Extra bonus: Russia has no idea what's going on, but is enjoying himself too much to care.
