Running water sounded through the phone. England tapped his pen against his desk before slapping it down to the oaken finish in frustration at the one-way conversation.
“America, are you listening to me?”
The water turned off abruptly.
“What- yeah, yeah I’m listening, sorry.” Sounds of objects being shoved away emitted from the phone. “That sounds good.”
England raised a brow. “You’re fine at changing the location?”
“Yeah, London sounds good.” America chuckled into the phone, his voice an octave lower than usual. “I’ve been really busy with the bomb-scare and the oil spill so… that’ll work out.”
“About the oil-spill…” England shoved the itinerary

Two days later England drove up the long gravel driveway to America’s Virginian home, the oldest of his several personal homes spread across his country. Turning the car off, England stepped out and, heaving his suitcase from the backseat, stepped up the porch steps to the front door. Before he could even knock the door was wrenched by none other than Tony. The two stared at each other, neither appearing to be happy to see the other.
England cleared his throat and offered a ‘I’m only putting up with you because of America’ look.
“Can I come in?”
Tony moved to the side, seeming to choose silence over flinging insults at his hated nemesis.
England raised an eyebrow and stepped past him into the house. Running water sounded from upstairs.
“America?” England called while walking up the stairs. “Where are you?”
“Oh- over here!”
Setting his belongings in the hallway, England stepped into America’s room and found him leaning over the sink, a white bath towel draped over his head

...and random note, just found out that BP, the one responsible for the oil spill? Stands for British Petroleum. Maybe that's why England's so insistent on helping?

America sat at the table, his right knee bouncing like a sewing machine needle, the box of tissues and trash can never leaving his side.
“Yes-yes it’s ready…” England walked over to the dining table and set a steaming cup of tea before America. “Drink it slowly, as it’s a tad strong.”
America stared at England. “…A tad?”
“I doubled the normal recipe so it might work more effectively.” England smiled down at him, proud of his hard work. “I had a hell of a time finding the right ingredients in your kitchen, but I made due.”
America placed his hands on either side of the tea cup. “You…you doubled it?”
What’s he getting at? England peered at America, his evergreen eyes narrowing. “Yes. I doubled it.”
America’s adam’s apple bobbed as he swallowed. “I-ah… won’t that be too strong then?”
Oh good! I was worried about that :) -continues writing-

England didn’t hear much from America for the remainder of the evening, save for the explosions and gun shots from the video game he was playing downstairs. Packing his belongings away into the dresser, England set his empty suitcase to the corner of the room and checked his watch again. Past midnight… He looked out the window of his room, finding the sun still setting in the western horizon. Groaning, he picked a book up and sat on the bed, determined not to let the jet lag get to him.
America… he’s hiding something from me. It has to be something big for him to keep stringing me along like this for six months… He opened the book and turned the bedside light on, his face scrunched in annoyance. I have to stay awake… wait for him to fall asleep. Then I’ll go into his room and find out whatever he’s hiding.

America was curled on his left side, his feet drawn up and hands curled into his chest. His hair messily spread across the goose feather pillow. His face was smoothed and relaxed, very different from the America he was used to seeing. Always smiling and grinning that thousand watt smile of his.
And there, fit snugly between his pink lips was his thumb.
England stared at those lips securely fastened around America’s thumb. The lips that seemed oddly plump… not full, but not thin either… Were they always that plump? They always seemed thin from the smiles he gives… And their pink texture… it wasn’t obviously pink, of course, but more of a shade that barely registered pink… two plump lips… sucking… on that thumb…
