Anons, I'd like to see some Spain/fem!Romano. But not just any fem!Romano... I'm not looking for a Nyotalia version of him.
Here's the basic idea: From birth, Lovino grew up as a boy. She was given a boy's name, wore boy's clothes and had a boy's haircut, and even after realizing that she was a girl... still wanted to be one of the guys. Her temperament, from cursing to being nice to girls and mean to guys? All part of trying to hide her gender. Because the tougher she acts, the less likely anyone would be to figure it out... right? This clueless Spanish guy falling for her had never been part of the plan.
I'm a little partial to AU, but it's not a requirement! Main universe is OK, too.
Bonus: Part of Lovino's inferiority complex has to do with the fact that Feliciano is a boy and she's not. Bonus 2: There's a rumor that one of the Vargas brothers is actually a girl. Everyone thinks it would have to be Feliciano.

Chapter the first: In which we are introduced to Lovino(a?) and her (his?) surrounding circumstances
So, it really wasn't her fault. Really, it wasn't. At all.
How could it be her fault that her stupid idiot grandfather couldn't recognize her? That could not -- not -- be her fault.
After all, she didn't choose for her parents to die. She didn't choose to look more like her father than her brother did -- yes, her brother, who was a boy, how messed up was that

Ludwig shifted uncomfortably and Feliciano's face fell. "Veee~ fratello," he said reproachfully, "that's not a nice thing to say at all."
Lovino snorted. "Your point being? I don't actually care that they're gay, but fuck! Come on, Feliciano, what the fuck are they doing there? Yao's a guy, he doesn't fucking have breasts

Author!anon? Consider my day to have been made!
I love the first part, and I'm really looking forward to seeing it progress from here. I'm loving reading Lovino's attitude over her whole messed-up situation... and Gilbert and Francis...!! I have to say that the idea of Francis trying to molest her (without even realize she's a "her") is hilarious.
And no worries about taking a while, anon! I'll do my best to wait patiently. :)

Instead of rising to the bait, Lovino smirked. If only they knew... Opening her mouth, she was about to make a retort that would have severely humiliated both Francis and Gilbert, but was interrupted

Ah, I'm really excited to see that you got another part up so soon! I particularly loved Lovino punching Antonio as part of her introduction, and then getting stuck having to show him around. And, of course, the attempt to win her over with a tomato! ♥

Chapter the third: In which Lovino is called to the nurse's office, and some close calls occur
It had been a few days before the call occurred, and Lovino had almost forgotten about it before the last day of the week -- Friday. It was good, she mused as she exited her last class -- Science with Mr. V (his last name was so long that he didn't let anyone call him anything other than Mr. V). It was actually a smart idea to have school start on a Wednesday -- that way kids could start school without feeling too pressured or exhausted.
The loudspeaker sounded.
"Lovino Vargas, will you come to the nurse's office please? Lovino Vargas, to the nurse's office please."
Lovino froze. Shit. She had forgotten all about that visit, the one that came every year, the visit to the lovely and solemn Mrs. Karpusi.
Scowling, she started the walk across campus from Mr. V's room to the nurse's office. No happy weekend for her. Mrs. Karpusi would try to convince her to tell the truth again and she would have to refuse again and tell that stupid old

"What the hell are you doing? Didn't I tell you not to follow me?" The tall Spaniard gave her a pitiful look.
"I don't know where my friends are... And I think you're cute! So I'll follow you!"
"Don't! I have to go to the nurse's office! It's creepy if you follow me everywhere!" She quickened her pace, but the boy kept up easily, his long legs easily eating up the distance between them until he was next to her.
He gave her a crooked grin. "But you're cute! And I like cute things. And you like tomatoes. So we must be meant to be friends!"
She tried her determined best to ignore what that grin was doing to her stomach. Her face was bright red, she knew, and those eyes...
So what. She was straight. She'd figured that out a while ago. Just because she was attracted to this dense bastard didn't mean that she liked him or anything. For one, she barely knew him, and for two, he was stupid. And an idiot

"But?" The word was a gentle prompt and an invitation to say more. Lovino grew irritated immediately. What was the deal with this "trying to find hidden feelings"? What if she didn't have any? The woman tried this every goddamn year! What did she expect Lovino to say, that she was sick of being a boy and she wanted to live life as a girl
