USUK after WWII anonymous June 2 2010, 15:19:26 UTC
It’s the end of WWII. England and America hook up. England finds himself extremely attracted to the fact that America is so healthy and untouched by the war, his body healthy and unmarred, his economy rich and blooming, his newfound power status…while America is attracted to being needed so much, and is extremely tender and sweet to a weakened, weary and famished England in need of this peace, funds and healing.

Hurt/comfort after WWII with varying views on attraction to each other

I'm seriously thinking of filling this. Gonna do a little research first, and anyone else that wants to fill is welcome to it (I think I just convinced myself to fill it >.>).

Don't know how updates will be, as I have a few ongoing fics right now. But I'll work on it.

The island nation slowly lowered himself into the cool waters of the bath, silently revelling in how it soothed his bruised skin. The times were getting better, but only marginally. He had seen the way that Russia and America watched each other; always suspicious, almost hostile. He knew there was something happening; there wouldn't be peace for long, so he had to try and enjoy it while he still had the time ( ... )

“Ah.” England finally looked up at him, and America tried not to stare at his sunken eyes, and the bruise on his cheek that stood apart from his pale skin. “Who was it that said it again ( ... )

I like where this is going. I've always wanted to see the beginning of America and England's modern partnership(starting of course after WWII).

OP is late but likes this a lot!! I like America's hesitance at first, and the sight England makes. You really described his wounds in a way that makes us readers wince and feel bad for him. Poor England, the things that are coming. The whole Special Relationship bussiness and America's obvious hope for it was really cute <3
I also liked that he thought of England as "old but smart", for some reason ^^

A relationship forged in the ashes of a war was doomed to fail. That was what England firmly believed ( ... )

The meetings finished, England had to return home. He was certain that he would be alone that night, after America finally left him. A month was a good run, he supposed. He could remain unaffected. Would remain unaffected. He removed his shoes at the door, and slipped his jacket from his shoulders. The light drizzle outside had cooled his skin, and America appeared in the doorway between the kitchen and the hall.

“You should take a shower,” America told him, and England nodded. He did feel a bit tired and dirty after the day of meetings and political debates. He hung his jacket in the closet by the door, and strode towards the bathroom door. America caught his hand before he entered, and kissed between his brows ( ... )

D'awww, your write this blooming relationship beautifully anon! ;u;

I adore how slow they're starting out, and how they're actually focusing on the relationship rather than anything physical quite yet.

Looking out for more update 8D

Ah, England, your little European cynical heart ;_;

So glad America's big young heart will awake yours ^^

I'm very glad you're focusing on feelings and emotional safety rather than delve immediately into the physical. I also think England would be very reluctant to believe in a relationship just after that, specially when he still feels so weak and bad. I didn't ask for the rebuilding of London and the making of the UN, but boy, am I glad you added it (any bit of historicalness will be very welcome, like that little jab at the League of Nations and USA's Not Participation in the end)

I think a lot of historical events has a lot to do with how their relationship turns out, so there will definitely be more. And I love writing emotional crap, so yeah. More of that, too.

Glad you're still liking it, OP :D

In their eight months, America still hadn't left. He still explored Great Britain, and then watched (and helped) England with the restoration. England was beginning to have hop, something he had hoped to squash down long before, but something that he needed to have. He needed that hope. His people needed hope. With a country nearing (or in) financial ruin, they needed something look forward to. They needed a light, and they needed to believe in something. Some of his women had left with the American soldiers. Some of his men had left the country. England wanted to feel betrayed by those people, but he understood their sentiments. After all, hadn't he himself found hope in America ( ... )
