Alfred the Kid (2/?)

When Alfred came to town, he mostly opened his mouth to spit out profanities. He didn’t ask Arthur to give him alcohol, he demanded it while pointing his gun to his head. But Arthur had already withdrawn his own and was pushing the barrel of his pistol to the kid’s stomach. He still remembered fluttering his heavy eyelashes like a women and smiling oh-so-sweetly as he leaned in across the counter, looked into Alfred’s eyes and smiled

“Tell me again,” he said as he straightened up and looked at Alfred, “that story about you playing poker.” Alfred laughed loudly and swung his feet up to rest at the chair next to him. He looked at his worn-out, brown boots and grinned

“I know,” Alfred smiled and took his hat back, his fingers lightly brushing against Arthur‘s forehead as he did so. They looked at each other in silence for a while, none of them knowing what to say or do

Alfred pressed a chaste kiss to the lady's cheek and lifted his hat shortly. "Thanks for keeping me company, ma'am, but I'll be on my way now." The woman chuckled and leaned against the doorframe, holding her thin coat tightly around her naked body. The wind was cold and haunting, sneaking across her pink cheeks and lovely smile

Arthur kicked off his boots and groaned in delight as his toes were finally offered some air. It was always an amazing feeling finally letting his feet get some rest from the tight boots. He sat down on the edge of the bed and wriggled his toes around, mumbling something about happiness and leather

He could've said something. Anything. A joke, or a profanity, or told him to go away and be gay somewhere else. But he just looked at him, got up and pushed the vessel under the bed again, then crept in underneath the blanket on the bed. Alfred moved to make room for him while he was still busy with his boots

"What's it about?"
"It's adventures." Arthur rolled his eyes and grinned.
"Yes, that does sounds like something he'll enjoy. Alright, I'll bring it to him." Elisabeth looked smug, but Arthur didn't say anything more to her about Alfred. Instead they went in to enjoy a piece of newly baked cake together. *
As Arthur handed Alfred the book, the kid blinked and stared at Arthur.
"Why're you giving me this?"
"Elisabeth wanted you to borrow it and read it." Alfred turned the book between his hands and kept re-reading the title.
"Oh.." He looked worried. Arthur sloped his head to the side.
"Something wrong?"
"Nope. What did she say it is about?"
"Adventures or something." Arthur shrugged. "Read it and find out."
"Yeah…" Alfred looked at the book, then at Arthur. Then he smiled a little. "Yeah, I will…" Arthur raised his brows and sent Alfred a wondering look as he disappeared out of the saloon.
"Wary fellow," he mumbled, then went to serve the customers.

It's my first western fic I've ever read and..damn I'm NOT disappointed. Arthur is the smexiest little thing and I love it how , despite making him wonderfully more effeminate (I love my UKe) he isn't a weak girly uke.
Alfred is perfect too with his little awkwardness which contrasts verry nicely with the usual confidence. I really can't wait to see how it develops further so... please update soon!

HAHAHHA! So, I'm totally reading this as everyone but Arthur speaking with a Texan accent. I love this story and, to be honest, the only thing to point out is that there are a few grammatical errors. Nothing that a beta can't fix
