My request! Thankyouthankyouthankyou, anon! This was a great fill, hitting all the notes that I hoped it would. I love your America, how he's always trying to do the right thing, and help his friends, than feeling awful when it doesn't work out. Yeah, basically you and I seem to be sharing the same headcanon. Just in general, epic amounts of "awww" and hand-waving adorableness. …love…

I read somewhere once that Himaruya actually based part of Liet's character on Jurgis. So, America must really feel guilty after reading something that reminded him so much of his friend.
Also, I laughed when America thought The Jungle would be about vine-swinging and panther-fighting. Maybe he's thinking of The Jungle Book.
This fill just keeps on giving. Great ending, especially with contrast of seriousness in the beginning and humor in the end, which does a lot to demonstrate America's state of mind.
I also liked the cameo of Poland, and the fact that you let Lithuania have a bit of a devious streak, though a fairly good-natured one. And finally, there was those last few lines that had me aww-ing at the idea of Lithuania having already forgiven America, and now trying to get America to forgive himself.
Thank you for the fill, authoranon! Definitely going into my bookmarks.

Dude, this book, it's totally like one of the books I already have lined up to read xD I bought it, and it's lying on my desk, but I haven't had time D:
All I know is that my mom told me she read it a while ago and it made her super sick >_>;;
But really xD I liked this fill even without the advantage of reading the book! x3 Pifft Poland's suggestions... My poor country DX
Don't worry, I didn't read the book, either, but we got a summary of it in our history class and the basic way to put it (without spoiling much) is that immigrants from Eastern Europe were the butt monkeys of the early 20th century.
America reads The Jungle and feels super guilty to Lithuania.
1902”It’s really nice that you could give me a job, America. I know my English is not very good, but ( ... )
