Cellar Door (Wales/England) [7a/10?] anonymous September 26 2010, 06:02:42 UTC
[Political note: I'm not using the term "Ulster"; England is. The question of what group, exactly, a personification represents, is one I'm avoiding with all my might.]

February 9, 1999As England meanders into the Goldsmith's Hall, he's in a good mood for once. He spent the weekend with Ireland and Ulster. Poor Ulster has stopped jumping whenever someone bangs a door, at least, and the three of them very nearly had a good time. Almost like family. He's supposed to meet New Zealand here, too, and that's worth looking forward to. Now where ( ... )

England stares miserably at his chips, which gently congeal in sympathy. "You and New Zealand," he says. "I - I know I havn't always been very good at showing it but I do care a great deal for you both and want you to be happy and if you're happy together, that's wonderful. Just be careful, I don't want you breaking - Wales, stop laughing, this isn't funny, dammit ( ... )

"You understand," he finally offers, "brother or not, if you do anything to hurt my child, I'll take hideous and bloody revenge." I simultaneously want to smack England upside the head and laugh hysterically at this. <3

Wait, if they had a dinner of takeaway vindaloo, then why the hell does England have chips? XD I mean, way to combine the two dishes I think of when I think of England, but ... What the hell, England?

"So is adorable. Last time Scotland called you that you bit him."

"I was drunk."

Pfft, I love the UK bros, seriously. XD

A;flakjsD f That ending ♥

English!anon would just like to point out that curry and chips is A, delicious and B, a ridiculously common english meal/takeaway.

Never let it be said that England does not help enhance the world's palate.

I'm horrible at reviews, really.

But I love this story. It's so quaint and emotional and I just feel bad for everyone involved. xD

And haha, unrelated to the main point of the story but I love how you skimmed over not mentioning New Zealand's gender there XDD

I should probably have seen that discussion on the Empire coming from a mile away, but it hit me in all the right places, and the way you used it to reflect England's character - and the way you used it to reflect the difficult affection between Wales and England here - is gorgeous.
