Re: never ballpoints [76/?] anonymous August 25 2010, 02:39:58 UTC
author!anon, thank you for your wonderful work. I think I always die when I see an update, you managed to make my brain dependent on your fill (in a sane way of course xD)

And I agree with this anon.
Altough, IMO, I have to say it would be a little weird to me to continue with the plot with Arthur's POV, since, well, I think Alfred's works perfectly and gives this story the air of darkness we're loving. But Arthur's POV before Alfred's final approach would be interesting, as well as his relationship with Francis in the previous chapters.
Thank you for Francis appearances in this parts! All my best wishes for you, author!anon! <3~

Not the commenter above, but I think they meant they hope to see Arthur's POV bits progress to the actual rape scene separate from the main story, which would be still done from Alfred's POV.

That aside, if author!anon decides to delve into Arthur's dorm life from his POV, may I request a character cameo taking the role of a resident advisor? Or houseparent, whatever they're called, the faculty members who live in their own apartment rooms within the dorm halls to oversee the boarding students once the school is out. I imagine Arthur wouldn't be that open to any of his RAs, but I just need to see an adult character genuinely caring for Arthur for once, no strings attached.

I'm so sorry for rambling. This anon has been to a boarding high school, so I know too much about it, not that I doubt the author!anon's knowledge of it.

A tip: It's really common for a regular teacher to be "on duty" in the dorms during weekend nights. Basically, a teacher would lounge around the assigned hall until around midnight to check the students in, ( ... )

Anon, your ideas just ripped my heart into shreds. As well as that little blackened thing that used to be a soul ... T_T

That was the plan! A lot of anons a while back wanted some stuff from Arthur's POV, so I was just gonna throw them around as extras. I'm pretty set in Alfred's brain for the main fic.

TOTALLY. I had a vague idea of resident advisors, but the situation never really rose to include one. I'll definitely go for it when I write from Arthur's POV.

this is an amazing tip oh my god. hrghr you're giving me ideas too ♥ thank you so very much.

This is the boarding school!anon from above. Glad it gave you ideas too (now I know I'm not the only one with mind in the gutter haha.) If author!anon ever needs elaboration on specifics rules in a high school dorm, holler in author's notes and I'll help. /overeager reader making grabby hands.

By rules I mean things like curfews and permission for off-campus trips and roaming hours and internet/phone cutoff hour and all that, which tend to be a hell lot stricter with freshmen in particular. or I'll just let my mind wander in the gutter again and see what it comes up with and suggest in the comments. orz

Err, yeah. Alfred as RA on overnight duty will give him a heck load of authority over what Arthur can and can't do. Like visiting other kids' rooms or having the lights on after a certain hour (eleven pm). Just saying.

I love how it took you so little to make me really see Francis - really, I love the way you write.

Oh geez. Alfred just keeps forcing Arthur to like it. DDDDD; A-and massive yay to detective!Francis being all concerned and perceptive! YES YES FRANCIS ARTHUR WAS LIMPING. I know your mind is in the gutter no matter which verse you're in, so figure it out already! *wibbles* I think it really hit me how much wrong Alfred's become. I-I knew it wasn't ever right per se, but I really see now how much this charade is ruining Alfred as a teacher, brother, a person. OH THE DESCENT OF HUMANITY. I love this theme ( ... )

I'm glad you're still enjoying it! Francis is always such a difficult character for me to write. Do I make him more grope-y? More understanding? I DUNNO but anyway.

The first molestation seems to pretty popular. I think I would like to write the key chain bit, too. I haven't had much chance for fluff lately.

Family would be very fun to write. ajshdhjg I'm making myself excited, haha.

Thank you! I plan to write a few scenes, and considering that you're OP -- you get first picks, I guess? Thanks for the wonderful comment ♥

OP here. I-if you're planning to write more than one, I'd like to see at least the key chain bit before any molestation scenes please. Just 'cause I wanna let the poor kid be happy even just for a biiiit considering how much suffering he's in for later;;;;;

Ahaha, I actually like that Francis isn't outright grope-y as he is in most fics. He seems much more real the way you portray him, which actually goes to all characters in this fic. <3 I mean, each character's got their own canon personalities, but they've been waaay exaggerated for the sake of being two-dimensional animated characters. I totally dig your subtle, believable depiction of their canon selves as real humans.

Authornon, you're the most wonderful authornon a requester at kinkmeme can ever ask for, thank you lots and lots. ♥ I feel I haven't expressed that enough lately for some reason orz;;

Author!Anon: I think I recognise your style and I need to tell you that you are my favourite in this meme. Your writing is incredible: stream of consciousness, the brackets, the details and snippets and depth and humanity. Perfect. Simply perfect.

I've read the entire story between yesterday's night and today. I should be working on a paper that I have to present tomorrow and that is sitting there, in my desktop, mocking me with its blankness, because what I can write, now? You waved one of the most poignant, realistic, terrible stories I have ever read. Your Alfred is so, so wrong and yet you see him falling, losing his humanity but remain realistic: lost and thinking he's in love and not knowing that this can't be love. Arthur breaks my heart in all his silent suffering: it must be terrible, to have one's trust shattered like this. And Matt! Matt who needs to know even if it kills him. And Francis, of course, brilliant Francis who surely will make all the pieces fall in place ( ... )
