Madeleine took in the image of the tallest she ever saw and was left breathless. Papa laughed; rich and velvet laughter dissipating the tense air between them. The man from the eastern Empire licked his lips and finally looked away from her eyes. She finally allowed her own lungs to breathe.
Without warning, taking even Papa and the tall one’s own men around them by surprise, he dropped a knee to the floor and took one of her small, delicate hands to his chapped lips.
“Рада познакомиться, mademoiselle,” He said, and she felt blood rush to her face and a sudden heat envelop her.
Papa laughed again and pulled the man to his feet, whispering to him things she couldn’t hear. The eastern man allowed himself to be dragged away by her Papa, while she stayed, watching him go.
In her hand, his kiss left a mark no one but her could see.

She had to cut her hair to look like a man to fight the war. She had to hide her breasts and act like a man - a soldier. She spent most of her days in the trenches, taking and giving messages from

She was drunk, she couldn’t even remember why. There was this place and everybody she knew was there, and then America put a drink in her hand and said-he said-
“Congrats, sis! You’re your own nation now!” She held her head for a minute or so. Yes, words, you can kindly stop spinning now, very much appreciated

“Where is he?” The force Russia used to open her door had been enough to send it flying from its hinges. “Canada, where is he?” The icy tone he used was enough to make her want to fly too.
Instead she stood, tall and proud and she would not back away now that she already knew so much. “I have no idea what you are talking about. Please leave.”
“Gouzenko,” Russia seethed, and she felt her knees tremble. “I know you have him

Canada pushed his sweaty hair out of his eyes, and kissed the bridge of his big nose. “I demand breakfast in bed tomorrow.”
Russia laughed a bit breathlessly, “I always make breakfast.”
“You make sandwiches and tea; I want pancakes with maple syrup and coffee.”
Russia pulled out slowly and rested his head on the crook of her neck. “Alright.”
“And you have to wear that cute little apron France gave me.” She beamed.
“No, anything but that.” Russia slurred half-heartedly.
“Yeees, no excuses.” Canada hugged him lightly, and smiled. “Hey, Ivan.”
“Mm?”
“Nothing, nothing really.”
------------ Don't you just hate word limits? Russian phrase generally means 'happy to meet you'. Dorky title is dorky, but I couldn't think of a better one. Russia still has his Austrian Vereinstaler btw. He's waiting for the right moment to give it back.

*flails* Russia/Canada yessss~
Then she remembered; England had given her an Austrian Vereinstaler he had found on the road. She knew he hadn’t found it in a road, but she pretended she did.
Ouch. Subtle but ouch, anon. And references to that WWII spy ring? You make my history-loving heart glee! :D Thanks for writing this!
Hmm, now I'm curious how R/C would react to Canada's involvement in the revolution... *ponders*
Ahn... not really? The second kiss is supposed to be set during World War I, because of the trenches and poisoned air and stuff. Russian troops were really disperse in that war because of the revolution going on back home so, there. Sorry!

I thought the Vereinstaler was a reference to the looting of dead bodies and POWs in WWI for money/cigarettes/souvenirs? Not something ever covered in my high school history classes. >>; Gouzenko/kiss 4 being something else entirely.
Always wanted to make one of these requests 8D

Dear author, please, don`t use googletranslator. "рада" is female form in Russian. And the male form should be "рад".
