The song 'It Only Hurts When I'm Breathing' by Shania Twain describes England after the Revolutionary War perfectly. Anon would like to see some angst about the Revolutionary War, America, about losing the one he loved etc.
Bonus: Happy ending with America trying to help England understand that he isn't going to leave him this time.

Once fiery emerald eyes, now dulled to an emotionless green, stared at the ceiling. The pale cream, flat surface held no interesting features, nothing to have such an intense gaze placed upon it. Are you kidding? OP is delighted! You filled it and it's just how I imagined it. The first part when you were describing how England was feeling with the whole it taking effort to keep breathing and to keep his heart beating was so heart-breaking, I adored it. I love how you included lines from the song and how you managed to add how England as a country was better off without their 'rebellious colony' but he still misses America.
And in the second part where England was unwilling to share his doubts and fears with America because he's just so used to being alone without America.
I can't stop smiling, you managed to get angst, fluff and the song in your fill. Thank you so much OP!
Author!Anon is so happy that I could make OP happy! I really thought it would come out completely different and with far more angst because that happens often when I write sad characters. I'm just glad that it turned out all right and that your happy with it d(^.^) It was really fun, but sad to write. Thanks for requesting it!
Bonus: Happy ending with America trying to help England understand that he isn't going to leave him this time.
