He'd invented the concept, without intending to (it was the nature of many inventions to be happy accidents). Romance, bliss, frustration, abject misery because that was the way it would be. A story for the children: he'd taught his siblings, the ones he had brought under his dominion and the one he could never conquer, how to tie the strings without thinking. Geography was destiny, was it not

Oi, thank you!
I was slightly inspired by the XXXHolic episode "Pinky Promise" (need to do a version of that with Yao as Yuuko...)
And just in case readers have a hard time telling who's who:
The order of nations mentioned is America, England, Canada, Russia, Japan, Vietnam, South Korea, Taiwan, Germany, Italy, France, Austria, Hungary, and Prussia.

Ah~ Interesting idea, and very poetically constructed. I love the language here, as well as the concept (that the string ties and tangles like global relations, instead of soulmate-soulmate) very refreshing and interesting, anon!

Ah, this is much closer to my headcanon, since I believe nations would have a lot of significant others. I also liked China's michievousness, tugging on the threadXD

Definitely not saying that the other fill was bad, but I just LOVE this version because I always liked the story better when it was about all kind of connections arranged by fate, not just the romantic ones. I really think we are all connected to so many more people than just one.
... And I love the idea of Yao pulling (*snigger*) a sneaky prank like that. xD
