Angst Ahoy! Word Count = 326
"What have they taken from you?"
China smiled, bringing France's hand up to his face, to up the delicate cheekbone and further, allowing the blonde man to feel his thick bandaging. "My eyes, they have taken my eyes."
"Je suis tellement désolé...ah, sweet, I am sorry, I am sorry..." The words came out in a rush of feeling as France bent closer, kissing the delicate skin around the cloth slowly, reverently. He continued to apologize even though he had nothing to do with it. Although, that was not exactly true, for they were all the murderers and the dead in this war, the rapists and victims. No hands were clean of blood.
"Do not be." The Asian man pushed away slightly, putting out the last, flickering candle. Now they were awash in red shadow. "I am glad they are gone. I have seen things that nearly broke me. It is better if it is dark."
"Darkness doesn't drown out the screams..." France murmured, holding China's narrow shoulders.
"There were women, girls, really, raped bloody before these eyes."

Horrifying and beautiful. Normally I'd object to any suggestion that Yao is impotent due to his age, and yet this did away with my concerns. The drabble also answers one of my headcanon questions --- how do these nations sleep easy associating with nations who've likely done their deal of atrocity?
And on another note...I ship Yao with the one who probably did this to him, ahem.
