Seconding!anon here with the first chapter. *bangs head on table repeatedly* I swear to God I don't know how this ended up so fail. Hope someone enjoys it anyway.:D Also the title, it means nothing. It may have been *~Symbolic~* at one point, but not at the moment OTL.
Chapter 1- Arthur
Arthur’s behind the counter cleaning around the till when he first noticed the other boy staring at him.
The coffee shop that he works at is pretty near the university his brother (half-brother, he always stresses because he’ll be damned if he has to be any more related to Francis than he already is) attends. The staring boy is sitting in the midst of a group of raucous college students who were probably responsible for Arthur’s growing headache. Arthur had been periodically glaring in their direction when it dawned on him that the boy sandwiched between the blonde girl with the annoying laugh and the black haired boy who talked with his mouth full had been boring holes in his forehead for the last ten minutes. Huh. Maybe he was trying to see the

“Another tea, was it?” he asked the girl, a sporty-looking blonde who was a fairly regular customer.
“Yep, perfect!” she chirped and gave him the money. Instead of fixing her her drink by the till like normal, he turned his back to the group of students and did it on the counter by the back wall. In Arthur’s opinion, the art of tea-making was a pure and sacred thing that did not deserve to be tainted by thoughts on whether a certain American was a natural blond or not. The making of the perfect cuppa required finesseArthur turned around to give the girl her tea- and the boy was leaning forward on the counter where the girl had been. He took the cup from Arthur’s outstretched hands and called out “Hey Jen, your coffee’s ready

“Hey, Jen, wait up!”
She looked up from fiddling with her iPod to see Alfred jogging up to her, his breath fogging in the cold winter air. “You don’t live down this way Alfred, you get lost or something?” she laughed.
He huffed a laugh and took off his glasses, twirling them around by the arms. “Actually, I was wondering if you’d like to come over to my place for a while. We could hang out?” He looked at her hopefully.
She smiled apologetically. “I can’t, sorry, my mom’s waiting up for me.”
“Aww, come on!” he pleaded.
“Maybe some other time.”
“Come with me.”
She blinked. She couldn’t stop staring at his eyes. They were so blue. Why was she saying no again? Of course she wanted to go with him. Why had she ever thought otherwise

Eventually they reached their destination, a long row of identical detached houses in an area populated mostly by students and the odd family who couldn’t afford anywhere more upscale. He led her to one of the houses on the left hand side. Jeez, it was lucky he was with her, or she’d be totally lost! Especially since her brain wasn’t working very well tonight. Honestly, it felt like her thoughts kept getting lost in a thick fog or something

I am so so glad they are that horrible, mean and uncaring! Finally, vampires that are actually cold-blooded and selfish. It creeped me out even more because he was being the usual nice and friendly vampire neighbour with Arthur...but it turns out that, if you're not to their tastes, you'll just be dinner. i like that <3

Oh, thank God for real vampires. If I have to see one of those sparkly wusies again I'm going to projectile vomit. You have all been warned.
I find this brother vampire action inappropriately hot, negl. And barista Arthur made me happy in my pants. Also, this looks wonderful and do I see a hint of old sick Dru and/or Spike in Mattie's need to help to feed?

A/N: So, uh...remember when I said that updates for this would be sporadic? *nervous laughter* Seriously, sorry for the delay, RL is a bitch. Apologies also for the lack of vampiring in this chapter, think of this as Francis's (short) introduction chapter.
Chapter Two- The Most Floral Rock Band in the WorldPartyWorld, despite sounding rather more like the name of a place where children went for their birthday parties to be entertained by a ballpit and a creepy clown, was a fairly standard nightclub - sticky floors, bad lighting, a little too much glitter and the odd middle-aged man leering at the college girls notwithstanding. In a larger city, it probably wouldn’t be as popular as it was, but since the only other option was a dingy pub containing even worse lighting, even more middle-aged men and no glitter at all, the place drew in a decent-sized crowd

“Good evening” Arthur replied pleasantly. “I must say, Francis, I didn’t realise dressing like the bastard child of John Travolta and a disco ball was back in fashion. How interesting.”
Francis raised one carefully sculpted eyebrow. “Why, Arthur, I didn’t realise you were such a fashion expert. Tell you what, since I’m such a wonderful big brother I’ll pay for you to go to the nearest beauty salon and get those abominations that you call eyebrows completely shaved off. Won’t that be nice?”
“You bloody-” Arthur, face flushed in rage, lunged at Francis, who dodged with the flair of someone with years of practice. When Arthur moved towards him again, Francis grabbed a nearby drumstick and brandished it like a weapon. Arthur stopped and stared, his expression changing from murderous fury to bafflement.
“What on earth could you use that for?”
Francis smacked him upside the head with the stick. “This!”
“Oww! What did you do that for, you fucking wanker

YEEESSSSSS AN UPDATE~~~~ ♥♥♥♥
Omg author-anon I am so excited. This is setting up wonderfully, and I can't wait to see how everything falls into place. As for concrit, I couldn't find anything about your grammar/spell that really jumped out at me, although I'd love to know what Francis said in french :) I'm loving the band and how they are arranged, as it really fits with the story/setting, somehow.
Really excited for this :D I can't wait to read what happens next!
Aw crap, did I forget to put in the translations? >.< Anyway, "Merci tout le monde"= "Thank you everyone" and "Á bientot"= "See you soon". I'm glad you enjoyed it, thanks for reading!:D
Bonus: Arthur and Francis share a father who is a vampire hunter.
