Alfred is a young but talented engineer. He one day designs the "perfect house". It's a computerized home with a top notch security system, and it can choose your attire for the day, adjust your shower water to the perfect temperature, change the channel on TV, call your friends and more with you hardly having to lift a finger. The house is run by an extremely advanced artificial intelligence program Alfred nicknamed "Ivan" that can accept tasks via voice command. He even builds a sexy human-like robot body that Ivan can occasionally download himself into to do more physical tasks, like moving furniture. Spiffy! To test the house, Alfred decides to live in it alone for at least one week. However, Ivan soon begins to take too much of a liking to his creator and decides to cut off all of Alfred's communication with the outside world and confining him to the house forever. Cue Alfred desperately trying to find a way out and Ivan happily trying to convince him that he's all the companionship he could ever want.

Immediately I dug my fist into my eye socket and rubbed, making neon orbs flash and twirl around my fingers. Apparently my actions were not approved by the AI, because the next thing I know I'm staring at a gloved hand holding my fist
( ... )
OP loves you forever, author!anon

Seriously, this is amazing. I love Alfred's voice in this story, especially his thoughts on Ivan's eyes, and Ivan is so wonderfully creepy. This is everything I wanted and then some. I am squeeing with delight right now, and I can hardly wait for the continuation. :D Keep it up!

At the beginning...? The part with the gears? If that is what you were talking about then Alfred had found some mechanics from inside objects that were located around the room, and to keep himself busy he just started to build what he could with them. The result was not a robot or AI, nothing like that. Just unneeded personification from yours truly~

It's very interesting how you start the story with Alfred already under "House arrest", instead of the usual process. Will you be doing anything from Ivan's P.O.V? Will you be updating soon? Contrary to my lack of exclamation points, I really am very exited someone's filling this, although it's not my prompt. Kudos for making it so good, so fast.(I take 2 months to go from idea to finished work)
goardint Francis, Silly ReCaptcha, goardint isn't a word, and Francis isn't in this story...I think.

This kind of reminds me of an old 70's movie called Demon Seed! If its anything like the movie, this will be pretty darn epic!
