Oh, I didn't mean literally, exactly. I'm Chinese (American) myself, and am fluent in Chinese. It's just that there's a tshirt I saw from Black Lava (http://www.blacklava.net/), and the idea just struck me as incredibly adorable ;u; And anyways, as far as I've seen, it's really only something you'd say to family, not people you don't know so well. Besides, as whoever the other nation is probably wouldn't speak Chinese, (except maybe Hong Kong, if anon chooses, but he would speak Cantonese, and Taiwan probably Mandarin and Taiwanese) so there wouldn't be any other reason for it besides love.
Well, that's my somewhat convoluted logic, hopefully it makes sense...
Please don't call her Mei Mei ;u;

Because as far as my Chinese goes, I'm pretty sure "Have you eaten?" is just a greeting, like saying hello.
