USxUK- King of Queen of Spades anonymous March 8 2011, 06:04:34 UTC
I'd love to see anything with America and England and their 'King and Queen of Spades' roles in the new ArteStella artbook.

A fairytale AU? A costume ball? Anything. Be creative. I just want to see some awesome fanworks playing with our boys and their... role as King and Queen in a matching suit.

For non-AU, I prefer established relationship, although hookup fics are okey as well. No excess angst, unless there is still a happy ending. No nyotalia. Fic and art are both awesome.

The Kingdom of Spades.

Was the Kingdom he would inherit, but it was not truly a Kingdom.

Though the lands of this earth were ruled by four Kingdoms: Hearts, Clubs, Spades, Diamonds. Not all abided by the title of “Kingdom” exactly. The Kingdom of Clubs for instance did not hold strong to the title “Kingdom” in that its lands were ruled not by their King or a Queen but by the King and Queen’s advisor and his party of elected officials. The Kingdom of Hearts, the Kingdom that had once ruled all of this earth was ruled by the Great Axis, an alliance of the three families that originally had ruled all the Kingdoms. A representative from each family was chosen and those three ruled the Heart Kingdom. Diamond was the most traditional in that it was ruled by a King who has a Queen. Diamond is Spades’ main enemy. Though all the Kingdoms were not at peace with each other they were also not at war. It had been in his grandparent’s time that ( ... )

A boy stands in front of him, before the tree and the sword in the stone. This boy whose hair shone like gold in the bright sun and whose eyes were as blue as this vast sky above them, a sky Arthur had not known could be such a colour, the description of which he’d only read about in story books ( ... )

It is Arthur’s turn to give a jolt, as those words had left his mouth instead of staying enshrouded in his thoughts. The young boy before him, is much shorter than he. Perhaps up a little past Arthur’s elbow. He is looking up at him curiously and intently before drawing back into a pensive, innocent look. His gaze causes a shudder to run through Arthur’s entire being, whose hand slips on the apple, but the boy catches it and grins. Arthur’s body feels hot when the boy leans in, his upper body pushed forward as if to say “is that so ( ... )

Your phrasing is somewhat awkward (all sentences should have a subject (the noun performing the action) and verb at least... you tend to skip on the subject a couple times) at points but I do sense a fairy-tale aspect that I find refreshing. Also, I love the mixture of Arthurian legend along with the king of spades, as well as the chess reference ( ... )

thank you for your feedback!Though that proclamation was sent far across the vast lands of the four Kingdoms, very few took up its offer. A prince would become Queen? Many did not know what to make of it, those who knew of Spades’ customs either snickered or pitied the place ( ... )

The fourth person to appear was a young woman with long dark hair, she came far from the enriched lands of the Kingdom of Hearts where no need was unattended. Prosperous and joyful, the corruption that laid there was brushed under the carpet and denied with self delusion and materialistic content ( ... )
