The teasing, Arthur could handle. His eyebrows, his cooking, even his breathing, god Arthur you make such weird noises when you breathe, all of that he was fully capable of ignoring

Alfred is in the yard, practicing his swing with some old, clearly careworn wooden bat. When he sees Arthur, he gives him a huge, innocent grin, as though the months of embarrassment have been nothing, mere trifles in the grand scheme of their lives

It’s later that Arthur finds out, when Ma…
Ma…
Alfred’s brother, the same age as Alfred but infinitely older, comes downstairs and gives him a look that Arthur knows has nothing to do with his name.
“I didn’t… I didn’t think he’d get so upset about a bat,” Arthur says miserably, “He probably has tons of others, doesn’t he?” The silence is terrible, deadly. It’s at this point that Arthur realizes he’s done something wrong.

I don't usually comment (reCAPTCHA is my nemesis and it takes forever for me to type the words correctly, so it's always a struggle) but I felt that I needed to comment. This was really sweet. So going into my bookmarks and I must say, I love the other fill you linked to. It's been in my bookmarks for awhile now.
Might I ask if there's anything else you can link us to? I love your style of writing.
THAT FILL! I CRIED WHEN I FIRST READ IT A WHILE BACK! YOU WROTE THAT?!
Of course I'm okay with this Author!Anon! This is definitely breaking my heart NOW knowing where it will head for Alfred!
I feel bad and at the same a bit effed by Alfred's behavior, of course he and Mattie lost their parents and Arthur just broke his valued bat but Arthur was more than willing to fix it and amend the situation but Al just shooed him away. Damn it Al! ;A;
I'm feel completely filled with angst ;A; but thank you so much for filling this!
