Arthur leaned against the window looking out over the village. It was a rare time, with no wars going on and all the village prospered happily. Of course this meant that the knights, at a distinct lack of things to occupy them, had taken to wooing the young ladies of the town. He could already spot pairs of them, in shining silver and long dresses walking together down by the water. He thought it amusing that such violent men on the battle field turned soft at a woman's glance

The dust was beginning to settle now and he could see a few other people standing near the sidelines looking thankful that the boy seemed to be alright. Some already shouting gratitude to him that recognized his uniform. With everyone watching he figured he might as well extend the full amount of his courtesy. He held out his hand elegantly for the boy to take and stand up

Ah! This is wonderful! Not quite what I had in mind, true, but epic in so many ways. Alfred and Arthur's interaction made me giggle. :) Ah, Alfred. So brash and forward, even in the wake of being squished by a barn. (Not that he was in distress or anything, nooo.)
