Vine!Elemental!Alfred/Witch!Arthur - Forced Witch & Familiar Bond

Arthur is a witch wizard whose magic skills are fairly adequate. Though he's almost finished with his training, he's pretty confident in his own skills, and hasn't given much thought to finding a familiar. Alfred is an Elemental with an affinity for vines, which he can control, and can even grow and retract from his own body (particularly his wrists and his back). He likes traveling and exploring, and has been looking for a witch to bond with to help him not get into trouble and to keep him company on such trips. So when he sees Arthur walking alone one day, he doesn't think much of snatching him right off the trail. Literally

A!Anon was attacked by an evil computer virus. Among other mean things, it kept me away from Word. Boo.
Many things will be explained here. Well. Not many, but some things.
IX.
“Here we are!” Alfred cried, stretching his arms out in a dramatic gesture that would not be out of place in a sideshow attraction. Arthur saw nothing. At all. Great. So he had been duped, had he? He should have suspected as much. And now it would be even harder for him to get back.
A giant vine dropped down only a few feet away, seemingly out of nowhere. Arthur’s first thought was that there were more elementals, and he was doomed. But when he followed the path of the vine back up to its place of origin, he found only an elaborate structure made of vines and branches. It was best described as a giant bird’s attempt at constructing a spiral staircase. It wrapped around the trunk of the tree, and although it was hard to tell where it ended and the natural structure of the tree began, even the most stingy estimate put it at a great size

X.
It was so easy to trust Alfred.
He acted so open, so human. Also, it was difficult to fear someone who had somehow managed to get a blueberry smear on the bridge of his nose. Arthur had to forcefully suppress the urge to wipe it away. Damn his mothering tendencies. Damn the bond. He still didn’t even know why he had been abducted, and yet here he was, thinking of Alfred with some form of... affection“So. Name?” Alfred asked around a mouthful of bread. Arthur had been somewhat surprised to see that the elemental possessed food clearly made in human settlements. Perhaps Alfred had learned to mask his aura in order to acquire such goods. It seemed like a lot of work to go to for such a simple reward (Arthur still hadn’t learned to mask his own aura), but the more time he spent around the elemental, the more convinced he became that Alfred was just the kind of creature to do such a thing. Obnoxiously persistent about the strangest things

Ah! An Update! Yay! Wait, is Alfred planning on having Arthur live with them? Somehow I don't think that will go over well. I totally love where this is going, and i can't wait for the next part!

Yay! You're back! ♥ Hope your virus didn't cause you too much trouble; I don't know what I would do if I was unable to reach my Word program. >.>
So Japan's an elemental too? :D And too much of an introvert to want a bond, according to Alfred. XD And Canada!!! I'm so excited to see how he feels about this!!! :DDD Actually...I'm wondering how Arthur himself is going to feel about this. Living with Alfred, huh? Can't imagine he's gonna be super excited about that prospect. XD Yes Alfred lives in a tree so it's basically a treehouse and I have no idea why that pleases me so much-
Also...pffft, blueberry smear. The mental image of that is just so-- :'D
“You could have gotten your sorry arse down from that tree all by yourself, couldn’t you?” Arthur growled. Alfred chuckled nervously, drawing his vine back slowly. “Well, yeah, but it woulda been kind of hard and also a big waste of magic to make the vines there grow big enough. You were right there, so why should I have had to do that?” ...I really love Alfred more than I should for

Hello Op, I've sort of bastardized your request. I hope you don't mind to much.
Arthur could feel the searing metal collar around his neck, if he concentrated on it. How it had been forcibly clamped onto him, and how it bled into his skin; it was all very surreal to consider. It was a device he had only heard of in stories. The same stories his mother used to tell him of the traders, and the unique volcanic ore they used to forge their bindings. Arthur could remember one late evening where she'd told him the tale, and how he'd asked her - a small child at the time - how you could escape from such a fate. You don't, she'd said as a chill went down his spine. Once the trader has you, there is no escaping him. So you must always be careful, Arthur. Always. Now, Arthur found himself in every magic practitioner’s worse nightmare. He was in the clutches of the slave trade, and now he was nothing more than a body slated for the auction block. Every being graced with the touch of magic, from simple witches like himself, to powerful dragons

But he was one of few in the village that were so fortunate. The rest of the town couldn't get a thing to grow. Only a few fields turned out enough crops to live by, and none of them were producing a profit. As times grew harder in the village, Arthur's bountiful harvest and productive live stock came into question and speculation. The topic was often the subject of rumors, and mean spirited gossip. As weeks turned into months, and months turned into years, the village gossip had trickled from a few mouths, to an ever present after thought on everyone’s mind. The exception, of course, being Arthur

He should have been more careful, he knew that now, when it was far to late to do a thing about it. He shouldn't have disregarded the rumor all together. There likely wasn't much he could have done, but he should have at least tried. There must have been something he could have done to avoid this outcome. But he was young, and ignorant to how horribly these people could ruin him. Arthur was a strong mage, a witch of powers that could amaze and devastate, and a respected member of their community. Arthur had thought he was safe. He had given them no reason to distrust or dislike him. But he had been very wrong

His anger, his pain, all of it had been so clear to him, so acute that he probably could have stabbed someone fatally with it. But the second that collar, the great black metal monster of a thing was on his throat, all of it harmlessly slipped away. His mind could no longer grasp such a concept. Arthur was blank, and he crumbled to the ground in a shapeless heap

The cart seemed to move forever, he couldn't see anything, but once in a while he could hear the slave trader humming or singing something to himself. Often, he'd talk to the horse, curse it and tell it all his woes in the same breath. In any other situation Arthur would have hated it, hearing someone else complain and cuss like that, but it was sound, and it proved that he was still alive, that something could still reach him. His senses were dulled; he couldn't see or feel a thing, but he could hear, and Arthur clung to that desperately

Arthur could start to feel more things tugging on him. They were thin things, they felt a lot like snakes of some sort, and they were actually quite warm, which also supported the thought that they might be snakes. But they made no hissing sounds; the only sound they did make was the slinking sound they made against the wood of the cart. They were far longer than any snake Arthur had ever seen. One traveled up his spine, and coiled around his head, as if to cradle it, while others wrapped around his arms, torso, and other leg
