USxUK, angst and fluff anonymous June 29 2011, 06:13:38 UTC
Arthur mentioned enduring a broken heart for 100 years during the 2007 Bloodbath. He mentions it again during yet another drunken tirade, but this time Alfred overhears. Hoping for a healthy mix of angst and fluff to ensue.

hmmm...... thinking about filling this.....
one thing always confused me though.....England says he's had a broken heart for 100 years, which, i'm assuming began in 1783 or even earlier... is he now no longer heartbroken, or was the bloodbath really supposed to have taken place in the late 1800s? *shrugs* doesn't matter too much..... you know what, i'll just say "hundreds" of years--that way, when America overhears, he'll have a bigger "suspects" list (not, including, himself, of course) to work with.

Does OP have any other things s/he really wants to see in this?

For all that it began just like any other drunken night of havoc for England--(with, perhaps, an extra side of mayhem and destruction, considering his present companion)--the consequences of his actions--(and not even his actions, really: just a slurred sentence, one tiny little mumbled confession amidst his rambling nonsense)--were something he couldn't even begin to fear, hope, or imagine the extent of.

He wouldn't know the gravity of what his words set in motion for several days, of course--setting aside the fact that the day after was eaten up with dealing with his hangover headache and feeling miserable in general, he noticed nothing out of the ordinary in the following week.

However, when America showed up and, without warning, punched Germany straight in the jaw in the middle of a World meeting, well... everyone kind of noticed that, not just England. Because it freaked everyone the hell out--partially because almost nobody felt up to starting WWIII, and also because...simply put, this was the nation that could have a ( ... )

...Now, England and Prussia would start off chatting about fun times in the past, and how Russia was a complete tool, but after the Englishman got a few drinks in him, he would always launch into a depressed rant about his former colony. It was always 'America this' and 'America that' and 'why doesn't he love me anymore' and 'I wish the brat would just drag me into a closet and screw my brains out already'. (Okay, so maybe he had never actually said that last one, but the subtext was definitely there ( ... )

His first though was that he felt as if his head had been run over by a bus. An angry bus. Wait. That made no sense. But neither did the spinning room...Ugh, why was the light being such a prat today? Shining in his eyes like it didn't know he....

Oh, right. Hangover. England groaned into his duvet, burrowing his face into the pillow to block out the afternoon sun shining through his bedroom window. He didn't even have the energy to question how exactly he'd managed to get from his favorite pub to his own bed while he was pissed off his arse, but was grateful to be there nonetheless. With that last thought, the Briton promptly curled up and went back into a deep sleep ( ... )

Not OP, Anon, but so far this is very cute and seems very promising :) I love the idea of England and Prussia being drinking buddies, well, sort of...And even more that America is the one coming to pick England up ^^
Oh and the glaring contest between germany and Russia made me giggle like mad XD

Also, as much as I love UsUk, I often have the feeling that almost everything has been said and done with this pairing, still you managed to catch my attention, and make me want more! Infact I'm looking forward to the next update :)

Yay,first (real) review! (I just figured out how to post it to the fills list ;u; )

Yeah, I know what you mean about the same things being said over and over in USUKUS stories.....I hope I can stay original!

Errr, also.....I meant that America was the one that had a 30 year staring contest with Russia and won....e_e' guess I...didn't make that very clear (it was supposed to be a Cold War reference...)

But anyway, thanks or reviewing! Part 2b is well underway!

(this anon understood what you meant with the staring contest, anon. Cutest way of describing near-global annihilation EVER!)

For America, the weirdness had started the moment he walked through the bar's door.

(He would have liked to say that it began when he got a text from Prussia at 3AM, telling him to come pick up a sniffling, dead-drunk England, but this happened often enough that it didn't even phase him...though it had been happening an awful lot lately...)

Anyway, things had been pretty normal--London traffic was as confusing as it always was, what with the backwards roads and all, and it was kind of annoying that he'd had to pause his game with Kiku--America was winning even though it was one of Japan's games', so he'd been on a high--but he arrived at the pub soon enough, having arrived a few days early in London for the World meeting ( ... )

"Dude, how much have you had?" He asked, mostly to himself. For as expected, the little Island didn't answer. He turned to Prussia, who shrugged.

"Don't look at me, kid. S'not my fault the guy has the tolerance of a 4-year-old," the albino snorted. America felt his teeth clench a little. He could never figure out where he stood with Prussia...he was a godsend during his revolution (not that he'd ever admit it), but then the World Wars happened...of course, America also felt a bit guilty that it'd taken him nearly 30 years to get the German away from Russia, and sometimes wondered if he held a grudge because of it--he'd been able to help all of the other Axis members recover right away, but Prussia...

"Then shouldn't you stop him before he drinks too much?" America asked anyway, saving his thinking for another time, as he often did. "You're his friend--you know how he gets when he's drunk..." Oh, how America knew...

"S'why I call you," the German said easily. America stared hard at him. He could swear the albino was laughing ( ... )

Oh Author!Anon, this looks so good. <3 And while it's nice to see a not-entirely-oblivious America, it's even more amazing to see a passive-aggressive America. I've seen him written that way about his brother, despite the fact that they seem to have that kind of relationship. Very cool. LOL

Oh America, honey, how long will it take you to realize who he's in love with? XD And I can't wait to see what kind of misunderstandings led to America punching Germany is the beginning of part one. This should be interesting. >:D

Oh yeah! Are you posting your updates to the Fills List? I just happened to stumble upon this, and there are surprisingly few comments! Granted, people barely comment anymore on new stuff on this meme, but still ...

:D Thank you, m'dear! Yes, it annoys me when people make America out to be a complete idiot...he's not stupid, just kind of oblivious sometimes...like he will be for the misunderstanding of epic proportions mentioned in 1a :3

It will take awhile, with many shenanigans along the way....as for America's punching, all I can tell you is that Prussia is involved. That is all. ^3^

Eheh...yeah, just posted the story to the fills list a few days ago when I figured out how to do it.....and I guess I should re-post every time I update? *first-time filler*
