Igniting the Cold War Crazy (America/Russia + hints of other pairings) anonymous September 21 2011, 17:23:32 UTC
Link to Original Prompt: http://hetalia-kink.livejournal.com/10960.html?thread=19992528#t19992528

tldr summary: Russia and US are dating, attempting to hide the relationship- however, in doing so, they start seeming off and paranoid and secretive to everyone around them managing to convince everyone they've restarted Cold War crazy. Mass confusion that's part romantic comedy and part horror story awaits.

It's a multi-chapter fill, NSFW, so enjoy?

(1a/?) Igniting the Cold War Crazy (America/Russia + hints of other pairings) anonymous September 21 2011, 17:24:32 UTC
It all started with that nagging little voice in the back of America’s head, those ever-present whispers of guilt that plagued him. Their people had made up yet they still continued the long drawn out fight. The old guard that lived with him through the Cold War was gone, leaving their progeny to condemn their actions of the era with a renewed fervor, as if the last generation hadn’t fought against nearly every action taken. Again, his own people had made him out to be the villain in the story. He didn’t want to be, they didn’t want to be but that was why they were angry at their forefather’s actions. Americans didn’t care for the old, didn’t revel in tradition, there was only the now and the future and those who did not adhere to the values of today were condemned even if they had lived half a century ago. In Alfred’s eyes this was the best and worst of America ( ... )

America woke up in a cold bed, confused at first but sighing as the memories of last night woke in his mind. He absolutely hated fighting with Ivan but the man was just so stubborn- although Alfred really wasn’t any better. Crawling out of bed, he pulled on a shirt over his boxers and went to find Ivan, hoping that he was still in the house. It was unnaturally quiet in the house without the large man’s sleepy shuffle and heavy footfalls echoing throughout the halls. Alfred checked all of the guest rooms on the third floor, but Ivan wasn’t in any of them. Must have gotten a hotel then, Alfred thought as he trudged down the stairs in search of coffee ( ... )

Alfred narrowed his eyes at Ivan, too breathless to actually talk. He reached up, licked and kissed Ivan’s nose, knowing that it drove him crazy. With this new bit of taunting, Ivan figured that Alfred was ready, positioned himself at Alfred’s entrance and pushed in slowly but fluidly ( ... )

The meeting room was terribly crowded and noisy with fights breaking out everywhere because only Germany, Japan and Switzerland even tried to keep the peace- and Japan wasn’t all that good at it really. So the result was a microscopic section of the globe in World War III. France said something in French and England promptly went to smack him, starting another fight that no one wanted to intervene in. South Korea and Estonia were playing StarCraft on their laptops in a corner, drawing many of the Asian nations and a couple of European ones into a crowd near them- loud Korean ripped through the air once Yong Soo won. Romano was hitting both Gilbert and Antonio on the head with a chair, and Austria was trying to curtail Hungary’s stalking of Finland and Sweden ( ... )

I'm not sure if you're finished posting -- or if my comment will even go through! -- because Livejournal is going insane. But I just wanted to say that this looks amazing. I don't care for this pairing at all, but your characterization here is definitely convincing me fast. :Db

I'm also loving the way both guys are playing on people's images of them to keep their relationship (and some of the personalties, frankly) this secret. It's pretty impressive, really. I wonder, though: how reliable a narrator is America, really? I mean, would England really go berserk if he learned about their relationship? And was it really Hong Kong who gave those fireworks to Sealand? LOL

Oh yeah, you really give a good impression of these guys knowing how to read each other really well and having a reasonably mature relationship -- without having a perfect, fairytale relationship in which they never fight. Way to balance their "human" age with their "nation" age, Author!Anon. <3 ( ... )

Is that why everything was so glitchy when I posted yesterday? I thought I had just messed up royally... this is hte first time I've posted on here actually, but I'm glad you think I'm as good as some of the other writers on here! .///. Makes me blush.

(I'm not sure if it was Hong Kong, it could be any number of other old colonies of England's...)

I was worried about overdoing it with the arguments, glad that it worked out how I wanted it!

Thank you for commenting!

oh wow. The shower scene was incredibly hott....
But lol their bickering over the car ride was pretty amusing, and so was their faux-fighting at the conference. I wonder how many other nations also fake-hate each other haha

A/N: Eh-heh, I hope this works like I want it too... Oh and when I said that the pairings were going to be hinted at, there's some really strong CanadaXUkraine in the mix. And I realize that was an awkward place to stop for the first chapter... oh well ( ... )

While England and France were fighting in the meeting room, America had successfully avoided Japan and Estonia, both of whom had been looking for him after the meeting. He was like a ninja/spy/secret-agent sneaking through the halls in his perilous mission to find Russia and get to the car without anyone noticing. Darting, rolling, jumping, even pulling out his gun once like he was in a James Bond movie and using the shiny steel barrel as a mirror to see around a corner. What normally would have been a ten minute trip down the hall turned into nearly an hour or crazy-America-stunts ( ... )

Alfred kicked his feet against the floor of his truck, sulking because Ivan snapped at him for being late, and they had already pulled over to switch seats because Alfred was speeding, again. It was a tactic of Alfred’s, just sitting there emitting an aura like a kicked puppy until Ivan took pity on him an apologized; the master of being guilt-tripped lays on the guilt-trips himself ( ... )
