Based on this quote from The Simpsons, Lisa's Wedding episode:
Moe: “Oh, an English boy, huh? You know, we saved your ass in World War II.” Hugh: “Yeah, well, we saved your arse in World War III.” Moe: “That's true.”
I want to see what happened, Hetalia-wise. :) Don't care if their relationship is portrayed as romantic or brotherly, though romantic would be especially nice.

It's difficult to breathe, and the handkerchief England holds to his mouth as a makeshift face mask is hardly sufficient for expelling any fumes in the air he's inhaling. Not that it matters to him all too much if his lungs are burnt to cinders- just so long as he can get across the battlefield in time, that's what he cares about.
Something sharp is projected past his ear, and he's aware that they're shooting at him again, with guns he can't afford to best and weaponry that puts him to shame. Currently, sinking into the soft earth below his feet and struggling to keep moving forward, his own life means nothing to him.
"America!"
England's voice is embarrassingly hoarse because there's been no fluids available for a good three days, and his lips sting as he moves them. All he needs is a good drink to quench his thirst, and he has a bottle of water in his rucksack, but he's saving it for someone else and doesn't want to be selfish by consuming it himself.
