England/America - redeeming himself anonymous September 18 2011, 04:46:16 UTC
In many fills/fanfiction where they have a fight or a falling out, America is always in the wrong and has to crawl back and grovel to England for forgiveness. For once, I'd like to see a situation where England is in the wrong for doing or saying something hurtful and/or stupid to America and has to do something to prove that he still loves America.

Bonus: America isn't willing to forgive that easily and sadly gives England the cold shoulder
Bonus2: England doing so many romantic things asking for forgiveness, be creative! :D

England is enraged as he enters the room. “That was downright ignorant.”

America tears his eyes away from the television and stares over towards the doorway instead. “What is, babe? Did someone upset you?”

“Yes, they did,” England says. “You’ve upset me.”

“What?” America asks with wide eyes. “What did I do?”

“You’re fucking up everything with the rest of the world,” England says.

“If this is about the debt thing, I told you, I’m working on it.”

“It’s not the ‘debt thing’ at all! Greece just cancelled his visit to you and what are you doing? Sitting in all day watching stupid action films when you should be do something about it!”

Irritated, America raises a hand and tries to speak, but England continues his rant.

“I have to live with these people, you know. I have to work with Greece on major European issues and because you’ve not bothered to see how he is, I’m the one that’s going to receive all his hatred because I’m the one that’s meant to keep you in line. And I’m sick of it ( ... )

The next time they see each other is a week later in Northern Ireland’s house, because America is trying to build up trading connections and England is visiting his brother.

“Hello, love,” England says with a smile, taking the seat next to America and attempting to take his hand.

America recoils; England looks horrified and Northern Ireland looks amused.

“You’re not still angry at me, are you, love?” England asks, arms falling uselessly by his side.

“Fucking stop with that!” America demands. “When I tell you to stop calling me that, I mean it!”

“I’m sorry,” England says, weakly, but America has already stormed away in an overly theatrical manner.

Northern Ireland leans back in his seat and sighs. “Thanks, Arthur. I was so close to getting on with him until you showed up...”Pulling out the chair next to America as the other nations assemble around the Conference Table, England declares, “We need to talk ( ... )

When America gets home, he’s greeted to the sound of Tony knocking the shit out of zombies on some video game. He grins and walks towards the room housing the games console, intending fully to join in on two-player mode, but is stopped by the sight of a small, white envelope atop the hallway table.

It’s addressed to him and he opens it without grace, picking out the contents and reading the words scrawled upon the page in a familiar refined handwriting.

I know you probably won’t read this, dear, but-

America grunts. England is correct; America’s not going to read it. He stuffs it into his back pocket and sets off to find Tony. He’s in bed, staring up at the ceiling in darkness and feeling sick to his stomach for a reason he doesn’t even know, when he decides to pick up the letter and read it.

Flicking on the bedside lamp and lifting up the page, he sighs as his eyes skim over the sentences written in blue ink.

I know you probably won’t read this, dear, but I’m exceptionally sorry for everything. I hadn’t any idea that you were so ( ... )

So far so great, a!a. I'm glad that the healing cock hasn't been whipped out. The fight is pretty realistic as it has little annoyances building up over a time. Also, England can't just expect to be forgiven. I'm looking forward to see how they make up. :)

A minute passes.

England’s left eye twitches as he forces himself not to look at his cell phone.

Two minutes pass.

England shifts his legs and leans back into the chair in an attempt to get comfortable, eyes set to the television screen because he is not going to look at his phone.

Three minutes pass.

England gives up, reaches out, and seizes the phone.

The first thing he does is check for text messages but he’s received only one and it’s from Spain, asking whether or not the next European Commission meeting will be in fancy dress. England ignores it because he has a feeling Prussia’s playing some sort of prank on the Spaniard and he doesn’t want to get involved.

The second thing England does is call Italy.

“Buongiorno, this is the Italian Republi ( ... )

Knock, knock, knock. Five fingers, one fist, thousands of tiny particles that make up the door.

America flings it open and England lowers his hand. He’s got one arm wrapped around a large collection of poetry and he’s suddenly feeling foolish, greeted by a steely glare as America stares at him with contempt.

“Hello, lov-” he begins, but he catches himself and says instead, “Hello, America.”

“What are you doing here?” America asks, voice gruff and shoulders slumped.

(He’s trying to hide how happy he actually is to see England again- thankfully, England seems to buy the act.)

“Well, I’m here to finish a few tasks at the UK Embassy and I missed you, and I know you’re angry but I didn’t want to wait to see you again and I had to give you this and bye.”

England thrusts the book into America’s hands and turns on his heel, walking away without another word.Tony’s reading comic books and he’s taking up the sofa, so America heads up to his bedroom in order to see what book it is England’s given him in peace ( ... )

Aww at England using Shakespeare to woo America back. Predictable for England but omg still so very cute. Double aww at America being so adorkably embarrassed by it.
