USUK - lusting after parent's partner

Half inspired by a Rainy doujin from a while ago.
I would love to see a human AU where Alfred is 18 or so, still living with his divorced mom/dad. He sees Arthur around a lot and is vaguely interested in finding out who he is, but doesn't bother doing anything about it. Then one day, his mom/dad comes home with their new, far younger boyfriend: Arthur. Alfred becomes more and more attracted to him over time, to the point where he acts on his urges. Arthur initially doesn't want anything to do with it--being his parent's partner and around ten years older than him--but eventually gives in.
I want angst and guilty, guilty underhand smut, please ♥ happy ending not required.

I feel like I should try and make an excuse for my lack of updates. It's not because I was annoyed about comments or what have you, it was because I genuinely forgot I had this fill to complete! I apologise from the bottom of my heart. Real life gets in the way of my internet existence more than I would like it to, and LJ's posting feature started pissing about when I did try to update a while ago I just gave up at the time (I'm sure you remember when the site just wouldn't post things and the technicians had a hard job fixing the problem- fair dues to them that they managed it in the end, it must have been a difficult task). Only a recent comment made by a friend reminded me I had this fill to finish, and so here I am, humbly begging for forgiveness and hoping original readers consider continuing to read. I now have the time to finish what I started, so I hope it's an enjoyable yarn at least. (I also want to quickly note here that, as a Brit, I have absolutely no idea how American colleges work, so I'm just guessing/basing Alfred and

“Yes, I have.” Arthur himself appears as he makes the claim, panting slightly, and it’s clear he’s just run down the length of the shop floor to deliver whatever book it is straight into Alfred’s hands. “D’entre Le Morts. It’s French.” Arthur sniffs indignantly before continuing. “Usually I don’t like French literature... Actually, I don’t like France much either... But this is a good book. Inspired an Alfred Hitchcock film, you know

It’s late when Alfred leaves the shop, after wasting away a good two hours simply talking to Arthur in the same manner one would employ when talking to an old friend. He spends another hour driving aimlessly around town, eventually stopping at some sleazy cafe to get something to eat. Vague worries that Natalia might kill him for standing her up don’t affect his appetite, and he finds his thoughts focused on Arthur rather than Natalia anyway.
As he devours a greasy hamburger that doesn’t have any real flavour to it, he slips that book from his coat pocket- D’entre Le Morts -and begins idly reading the first page, thankful that it’s been translated into English. He soon becomes lost in the story and only realises how long he’s spent in the cafe when a waitress informs him they’re about to close, the food on his plate long forgotten and his tea cold. He’s never ordered tea before; he’s more of a Coca-Cola person, so he’s not sure why tonight of all nights he suddenly felt like drinking tea instead

haha, I love how Alfred and Arthur are slowly getting closer. I'm just a bit worry about the angst and guilt since their relationship has been fairly cute so far.
Livejournal was being really difficult, especially for anon posting, so worries about your updates, anon ♥
Can I just say how cute this is again? Because it is utterly adorable. I love how Arthur really does want to be on good terms with Alfred despite everything, and Alfred is just... smitten, almost. Your writing is a joy to read, author!anon--and mentioning Alfred Hitchcock? Icing on the cake ♥♥

I am just as much smitten by this story as Alfed is with Arthur. The uncanny thing is that I just had an Alfred Hitchcock triple feature two days ago when I was home sick. That was an excellent touch. And, I love the rapport that the two of them are already in the midst of establishing. Alfred doesn't even know what's hit him yet. That's the best part right now. I'm really enjoying this and looking forward to reading more.
His alarm clock goes off halfway through playing a difficult level. He jumps at the sound and his control over the joystick falters, his game-character graphically dying as a result. The alarm means that it’s time he goes into town for his after-college shift at the grocery store. He’s works part time but detests it, three nights a week of stocking shelves as well as dealing with bothersome customers. (And occasionally Matthew, who pops by just to be annoying before disappearing away again

“They’re on the shelf next to ‘sci-fi’, under ‘fantasy’,” Alfred tells her, before Arthur can speak.
Sunhat-woman gives the pair of them a grateful nod as she wanders off. Arthur turns to Alfred and smiles at him. “You know where things are around here- I’m impressed!”
The compliment isn’t really that special, but Alfred’s still pleased.
“Tell me,” Arthur continues, “are you employed by anyone?”
“Not anymore.”
“Would you consider helping me here occasionally?”
Alfred is wary. “Did Mom ask you to offer me that?”
“She didn’t ask me anything,” Arthur vows. “I simply trust you more than I would a stranger. I’ll pay you for it, of course.”
He makes it sound like you're a prostitute.
That damned voice again, intent on ruining everything Alfred does. Trying to ignore it, Alfred replies. “Sure. It’d be okay working for you, I guess.”
Arthur holds out his hand to seal the pact with a shake. Alfred is only too happy to grasp it, surprised to find that Arthur has slightly clammy palms and ridiculously warm skin.
