Uh, I meant that it would be AU rather than canon, since America is not fat in canon. (It's all muscles, according to Himaruya.) I didn't mean a human AU or time travel or anything like that; just an AU where everything was same but that detail. No worries! :)

Overeating America is canon, though. Making him gain weight according to his actual eating habits is not enough of a deviation from canon to make a story an AU, in my opinion.

But it's also canon that he exercises enough not only to keep the weight off: he actually exercises enough to gain excess weight in muscle alone. That's a pretty big difference. In fact, that's one of the few facts included in his character notes. Pretty important stuff ( ... )

I still think it's not enough of a deciation to be an alternate universe. America gaining weight is only a matter of him not exercising. It doesn't require a universe changing event or anything.

I think you are taking someting very simple too seriously.

Note to commenters in the deleted thread: If you can not reconcile your interpretation of Hetalia with the premises of this request, you could make your own request rather than argue about it with the OP. The OP's interpretation is what matters for their own request.

Note to mod and OP:

Mods: I had already received a response from OP that was useful in my attempt to write a fill. I Later, another anon challenged my definition of an AU, so we were discussing that issue separately. Sorry that was problematic. Can you please un-screen at least the relevant question and answer from OP, so I can make my fill? I don't care about the rest of the discussion, but OP's answer was important to me.

OP: It was my understanding that what I described at the top of the thread was also what OP wanted, regardless of extraneous discussion of what constitutes an AU, so I'd be interested to know if OP is still cool with what I described?

Me too, but this is honestly just what happens when people report things as wank that aren't wank or when they report wank that is already over. More than necessary gets deleted out of an excess of modly caution, and ... sadness. Good intentions all around, but ... sadness.

Uh, briefly:

1) A potential!filler appeared to ask you if you wanted an AU where America was fat and you replied with "not fat, just chubby."

2) A random anon appeared and hassled the the potential filler over the definition of AU.

3) They debated whether or not it would be AU as well as a couple of other points, then the potential filler ended the conversation.

4) Later, in response to someone reporting it as wank, mods deleted all of it and left a message about reconciling their interpretation of canon with the request or leaving. (That seems extremely irrelevant, since the potential filler had obviously reconciled it as an AU where America was fat/chubby and was talking about writing that. The only real problem was that it was off-topic, so I have no idea what the mod was thinking. I guess it all works out the same, but ... I don't think they were reading too closely. LOL)

5) And the last few comments after the mod comment are still there for you to read, so I'd feel dumb summarizing them. >_>
