Canada blinks. "I, um. I don't understand. We have enough money to host both of us at the Chateau Laurier separately."
"It would be good for diplomacy and international relations, non? Think of how much talking gets done behind closed doors! And you don't have to worry about the prying eyes of your bosses."
"Well, okay, yeah, but ... do we have to share a room?"
"Oh, come on, you like China and Cuba just fine. What's the problem?"
"Ah, sir, well I -" how to explain this, Canada thinks... "Russia's ... um... kindofreallycreepy."
Trudeau waves a hand dismissively. "He is just shy. He's really very pleasant!"
Canada looks over at Russia, who is smiling very eerily and toying with a lighter. He tries not to let the feeling of dread permeate his veins, but he's not above shrinking in his seat. "Are we talking about the same Russia?"

Trudeau has been blathering on and on about how successful his meetings with Brezhnev have been but he does an about-face now. "What? Why?" he asks, when Canada interrupts his joyful recounting of the day's events.
"Listen, Prime Minister, this guy - he, he doesn't like me, okay? He's made it super clear."
"Nonsense!" Trudeau says. "Did you try gifts?"
Canada narrows his eyes. "Gifts, like ... bribery?"
Trudeau mock-gasps and says, "Perish the thought! I would never suggest such a thing!" But he's smiling his calculating, 'just-watch-me' smile again. This can't be good. "No, I meant more something from the LCBO. Something a little more expensive wouldn't go amiss. Now, I don't mean scandal expensive! Just something perhaps he cannot get over the curtain. I love the dynamic between Trudeau and Canada! Trudeau annoying the hell out of Canada and getting all over-involved in his affairs is kind of canon, don't you think? :)
