China/(fem!)Korea - My Girlfriend is a Gumiho

There's a Korean drama, "My Girlfriend is a Gumiho," about a guy who unwittingly frees a gumiho (kumiho/nine-tailed fox). Unlike the evil gumiho of legend, this one is friendly, albeit quite mischievous, and she takes such a shine to the guy who freed her that she follows him everywhere. This irritates him to no end, but he has to put up with it because she gave him his fox bead when he was mortally injured and he'll die without it. Naturally, he ends up falling in love with her for real.

This couple was so adorable (if you want to see just how cute they are for yourself, there are English subs for the episodes online and recaps for them at Dramabeans) and the gumiho so irrepressibly energetic and clingy to her beloved, that I was immediately reminded of China and Korea and how perfect this kind of plot would be for them. Gumiho are traditionally female so this would probably work best with a genderbent Korea, although I won't object if you decide to break tradition and keep Korea male.

D'aww, I've heard of this show and I love Gumiho!Korea (along with Wendigo!Canada and Jagermonster!Prussia). Seconding, and I'm gonna go look up that show.
