Russia/China, make-up sex following a messy break up (read: Sino-Soviet split). Bonus points if US- and/or Japan-kun tease them about it while they are mad at each other!

So, the Sino-Soviet split was kind of an ongoing thing, starting in the late 50s. This is set during the mid 80s, while the Russian and Chinese governments were trying to, uh, fix the fact that China wanted to blow Russia off the map. Also, I apologize for my babelfish Russian; I don’t actually speak the language. Much like China.

China is trying very hard to be a civilized human being about this whole mess. But Russia just keeps smiling. China knows that smile, knows it well, has seen it for hundreds of years-he remembers different smiles, from time to time: the smile of a child out of the West, standing on the border with Mongolia, learning to ride ponies; the smile of a young man, wearing silk that China exported to him, laughing in that strange language of his; the broken smile Russia wore through his wars and revolutions, returning to China for consultation and consoling. And now this. This is not the smile China remembers from when they laid down together, years before, in the 20s, after his break from Imperialism. This ( ... )

As he turns back to the table, he finds Russia smiling at him still, sweetly, talking and holding his tea mug in both hands as China can remember teaching him as a tiny child. China slaps the plate of qiāncénggāo down between their two spots, takes his place at the table again, and serves a slice to Russia.

Russia breaks his train of thought to gesture at China when China just folds his hands in his lap and stares at his tea mug. “You aren’t having any?”

“I’m not hungry, thank you.”

“Oh,” Russia murmurs, and inexpertly breaks off a bit of the pastry. He collects it with his chopsticks, staring at it a moment, before he cups a hand beneath it and extends across the table, still smiling so tenderly, so sweetly.

China gapes at him a moment, nose crinkled slightly in distaste, before he sighs, rolling his eyes a little as he leans over. Russia hums softly as China opens his mouth obligingly. China bites into the chopsticks a little, can taste the left over oil from the chūnjuǎn, the savory edge of the qiāncénggāo sitting on his ( ... )

“Ivan,” China whispers. His fingers slip on the tea pot.

Russia is still giggling, even as he lunges and catches the pot. His hand must burn to hold it, but he takes a second to cradle it, before he stands and rounds the table. He sets it on the side bar as he walks, and then he settles down beside China’s chair. Even kneeling, Russia is huge. He looks up at China from around China’s shoulder, smiling blithely at him, reaching up and taking one of his hands.

China snatches his hand back, but Russia persists, grabbing it and holding it on the verge of too-tight, thumb running over the back of China’s knuckles.

“You were having love of me, once,” Russia whispers. He presses his lips to China’s knuckles, and China cannot, will not, say the words that linger on his tongue like a curse-that, truthfully, he has never stopped loving the boy kneeling at his feet, that he misses the soft, easy laughter Russia had before he went mad, and he even misses the dark, twisted man he has become, the man that betrayed him and made his people ( ... )

Somehow, his house coat is gone, the cold of Russia’s hands sinking through his shirt as the buttons come undone. He slides from the chair, onto Russia’s folded legs and into his arms as they kiss, deeply and longingly, like they haven’t kissed since the world turned black and red around them. He pulls away Russia’s scarf, undoes the clasp of his jacket and shoves it off his shoulders, pulls the fabric of his shirt from the waist of the Eurasian’s pants, and presses his fingertips to the cool flesh of Russia’s stomach. He finds a scar, over Russia’s left hip bone. Another, on the bottom curve of his ribs, more and more, like pox marks, over Russia’s chest. He undoes the buttons, and tries to remember which scars he had memorized before everything went awry with them ( ... )

Everything is white hot, and China arches his back, eyes fluttering. Russia collects him in his arms like a child, and China has never felt small before, but like this he feels like the child, as Russia shifts until he is seated and China is curled into his lap, elbows on Russia’s shoulders, hands in blond hair, their mouths close but no longer even brushing. China moaned, neck arching as he moved his hips over Russia. Russia pressed his mouth to China’s throat, wrapping his arms around China’s middle until his hands touched the opposite elbows; China still moved easily in his grasp, pistoning himself, muscles tight and shaking now.

“Ja tebja ljublju,” Russian murmured against China’s throat, and repeated it until his voice was rough and China had tears spilling down his cheek with the rapture of the words. “Nikogda ne zabudu. Ja zdes’ dlja vas. Ja tebja ljubljuChina opened his mouth, but nothing came out. He throbbed between them, squeezed Russia tight with arms and body, until Russia was keening against his chest like a ( ... )

Writer, this anon here is one very, very satisfied reader. The beautiful, bittersweet, quiet interaction between them left me breathless. I could really feel how they were reuniting after a long time of being separated.

But what I loved the most were China's memories of a young Russia. I believe it's the first time I've seen that explored on a fic, so thumbs up for incorporating such an aspect to the story.

Simply awesome, writer. I love how they have so much potential for beauty and gut-wrenching, albeit quiet angst and you made use of that so very nicely.

I've been waiting SO LONG for someone to do this prompt and thank God I wasn't disappointed! This was gorgeous - bittersweet, sexy, hopeful and hopeless at the same time. Fanfuckingtastic!

PS: the Mandarin was fine. ;D

guhhhhhhh that was amazingly sexy. the part about Russia's youth was fantastic, and wonderfully written.
my favourite part was probably the "And China supposes: when the world looks down on you, when the others think you are a monster, then it only makes sense to lie with another who shares the same fate." line.

the ending was adorable as well.
thank you for such a wonderful fic! *O*

So rich and gorgeous everything I love about this pairing. Honestly one of my favorite stories on this meme.

Also I fail at finding an online translator for romanized Russian, can anon tell me what Ivan is saying in part 5?

Ivan is saying "I love you. Never forget. I'm here for you. I love you." Jao is the Russian spelling of "Yao". And the last thing he says is "Good", but I think I meant for it to be "Excellent"? This is what I get for using an online translator for the Cyrillic. If you're interested, I use --> http://translit.cc/ <--this for my transliterations to Latin text.
