Warmth [1/2]

(Set around 1905, when Poland was still partitioned and Russia was at possibly at his most nuts. For the sake of this, the partitions entail Poland basically being passed around the three.)

The times with Russia are always the worst. Austria is harsh and Prussia seems to delight in mocking him, but even when Russia is at his most calm, there's something about him that Poland couldn't stand. And this time Poland knows something is wrong. The violet eyes are hollow and strange, and when Russia speaks it's almost sing-song, yet cold and empty.

"Poland... Poland, I've missed you," Russia whispers and enfolds Poland in that warm coat that reeked of vodka. There's a new smell over the vodka - a sharp tang of something metallic. Blood, Poland finally places it as. A smell he knows too well.

He tries to pull away from the other, shoving as hard as he could. "Like, don't touch me!" he yells, defiance burning in his eyes. Every time he'd try to fight, only to have Russia laugh and drag him inside, use his captive for labor or whatever else

Wow that was absolutely amazing.
Heart-wrenching, yes; the choice of character as the target of Russia's madness was perfect, in my opinion, and the overall theme of warmth was very well done.
Poland's characterisation- his concern for Lithuania, his need to fight, his speech- were all spot on, and Russia was bone-chilling (no pun intended).
Kudos.
