Lithuania jerked back in shock. Poland very rarely took the moral high ground with him, so seeing him so passionate, and angry over something was both bizarre and unsettling. Setting his face in a frown, Lithuania folded his arms and gave Poland a stern stare. ‘Now look here, Poland,’ he said, ‘this place… this place represents history, but it also represents how much I’ve grown. Sure I have painful memories, and you do too, but holding onto them won’t help,’ his expression softened, and he shuffled closer to wrap his arms around Poland from behind. ‘I like to look around this place and laugh, because, well look at it. All of these men, these monsters, they’re dead and gone. The Soviets failed, the Red Army toppled, and we survived it and came out of it stronger than before. This place is here to educate people as much as it is to mock these bastards who failed to crush us.’ He squeezed Poland in an affectionate hug. ‘You see now

Oh god, no, this is beautiful. XD Oh, Poland. You do have your own special way of dealing with things. I loved the mix of Liet's little speech with the rest of the fic, too - added a nice note of pathos.
