And I totally feel for you having to explain Hetalia for your husband. I had the same issue trying to explain my Obama/US fic to my sister and describe what exactly UK's relationship with US was.

Me: So England is like his dad but not really and has a semi-romantic relationship with him...ok, maybe 'dad' is not a good term for it, more like a guardian, but that's from back when US was small. But then he grew up and England didn't change and...

My husband is actually a big fan of Hetalia! He's not into the fandom, but he reads the comics, and Germany/Italy is his OTP. I am a lucky lady.

It's just...how do you explain that you're researching the wombles for a kink meme? About five seconds later he sighed, shook his head, and went to his computer, over my howls of "IT'S PERFECTLY INNOCENT!"
