I actually had this idea in mind before I found this prompt, and I said 'Heeeyy, this works.'. This is during Russia's ban of books written in Lithuania's own language ( ... )

The belt lashed across the backs of Lithuania's pale thighs, evicting a muffled cry from he small brunette. The area was red at once, and he barely had time to cope before the next lash was laid, square across his supple backside. It wrapped around to catch his hip as well, and he bit back a scream as his eye filled with tears. He bit his knuckle hard enough to draw blood as lash after lash colored and bruised his healthy skin. It had been long enough that he hadn't had a mark on him, save for his scars, before this. ...Oh god, anon, you've made me cry.

This dark period in Lithuanian history really tugs at my heart, and you've evoked the suffering so beautifully and painfully. And oh, poor Lithuania, fighting so hard and yet eventually having to give in.

I hate to say this, because it's so horrifically sad, but you definitely win. ;__;

I've read so many Russia/Lithuania stories yet this one somehow made me feel more than the rest. Lithuania's innocence is so hearth breaking here. And the parallel you make between Russia's madness and the fire is simply beautiful. Not to mention the idea of burning books, and the outcome (Poor, poor Toris. Should have thrown the book in the fire first.) I bow to you Author!anon. This story is great on so many levels.

I'm glad you guys like it! I know it was angsty, but that's how I see most of this pairing being anyway. I'm just glad that my descriptions of their emotions seems to have gotten through!
