“Estado Libre Asociado de Puerto Rico, right?” Arthur asked, stumbling on the words. Mateo smiled warmly and nodded.

“You can call me a Commonwealth. I don’t mind that, and it’ll probably be easier on you, because you speak English. English is one of my official languages, after all, I don’t mind you speaking it to me.”

“Right.” Arthur nodded. “Why do you put up with him?”

“With who?”

“Him.” he jabbed a thumb towards Alfred, who was insisting something about aliens and ghosts and exchanging stories about some dog-like beast of the south with Ivan who was claiming to have seen it, too. Mateo studied the energetic, younger blond before looking up to Arthur and chuckling.

“Americanization, I suppose.” Arthur cocked his head to the side. “I’m too American to stand alone.”

Alfred smiled a little from his place near Ivan before continuing his story.

Ivan and Alfred were talking about El Chupacabra. Yes, it was spotted in Russia. Seriously.

(It's hilarious that it says that it's Puerto Rican. I totally forgot that while writing the omake and should have included that. Oh, well.)

Yay, boricuanon is loving this! Mateo is such a cutie and lol at the chupacabra reference. You did a great job integrating Puerto Rican history into Hetaliaverse. Hope to see more PR love!!

Thank you so much! I always try to do some research before writing for Hetalia and try to intergrate it. And Puerto Rico's is interesting to me.

I lol'd so hard when I had first read the Chupacabra in Russia thing. XD I had to include it, I HAD to.

I might add more to this at some point~

Am I the only one on tenderhooks wondering what Puerto Rico will decide, now that America-thru-Obama has definitively left it completely up to PR to vote on officially becoming a state, being a territory, being independent, or free association?

Um...ok. Puerto Rican!anon has a problem with the research put into this fic. Did you research Puerto Rican sources or American ones? Becuase I can assure you the views are WAY different. First of all, the USA treated us VERY badly in the beginning. They invaded us, renamed us "Porto Rico" and years later imprisoned all the independists and their parties even comitting such massacres as the Ponce Massacre that occured on Palm Sunday ( ... )
