Three days had passed since he had gotten back.
Three long days of looking longingly at the wooden boat which lay outside his house.
He sat having tea with England, barely aware of what was going on around him. His mind adrift on the sea.
“So, anyway, as- wait. Are you even listening to me?”
America looked up from his cup into the emerald eyes of England.
“Not really…”
He expected a shout from Arthur, some kind of tirade on how rude it was to ignore your host. What he didn’t expect was a wicked grin and a mischievous wink.
“I take it you enjoyed the boating trip, hmm?” He said, setting down his tea and walking over to Alfred, placing one hand on his shoulder.
“W-what?! You knew?! You knew what would happen?!”
“Naturally.”
“Why did you leave me alone?!”
“The first time is always better alone. However,” England then bent down so his lips were level with America’s ear “The second time is much better with company.”
They finished their tea in silence.
