After seeing the last Korea-centric fill and stumbling across this: During the Korean War, Italy sent medical staff to help South Korea as well as other information on foreign relations between Italy and South Korea, I'm putting this request out here: The Italy brothers get involved in the war and attempt to help out Korea, as parallels are drawn between the two sets of brothers and their reunification (Italy) and seperation (Korea).
B: Veneziano tries to cheer (South) Korea up and remains optimistic that the other set of brothers will reunite at the end of the war. Romano however, remains a pessimist (or rather, a realist) in the situation.

Romano watches with his arms crossed as his brother uses a cotton swab to clean off a recently stitched wound all across the Asian man’s forehead. The Asian… Korea, he corrected himself. No, South Korea

Chop! Chop! The knife thuds into scarred wood, further damaging the much abused table surface. South Korea takes the newly made noodles and tosses them into a boiling pot of water nearby. Slamming the cleaver down into the surface, he looks over at Feliciano, who blushes and holds up sticky hands

North Italy bounds over to the soup pot and uncovers the lid. The smell of the broth is savory and just a little salty, but surprisingly clean, not greasy. “Ve- It smells so good!” He stirs it around a few times with the ladle, breathing in the steam before scooping out a bit. Then he freezes

Yong-soo keeps smiling because it is all he can do. He smiles even when his jaw aches and he thinks that his face must look very, very odd. Of course, he doesn’t do it all the time… But as he passes his children, his brothers whose faces are drawn and pale and tense, he smiles because he tries to pass on a little warmth, a little spark of something like hope or pleasure or the memory of joy. In surprisingly many, the spark finds good tinder and it flares to life. In a surprising few, the spark dies and he shivers to see the monstrosities they have become.
I am sorry, he tries to tell them. I should have been stronger. I should have prevented this from ever happening. He isn’t angry, not that much, at those who defected to the North again; many of these men were reluctant soldiers, startled and frightened. In his heart of hearts, he cannot blame them for what they did, though it hurts him terribly. He cherishes those who remained loyal to him all the more

He has to meet with commanders soon after but instead of his rather cold room, he finds himself going on soft steps to the tent the Italy brothers share. Softly, he inhales before clearing his throat by way of knocking

I'm amazed at how you really got into the prompt, author!anon. I love the interactions between the three of them and the overall sense of war, sadness, yet some cute mixed in there as well. It's very much appreciated <3
It's really a shame we've yet to see either Italy interact with Korea in canon yet, I get the feeling it would be fun to see as it is. But then, there's always stories like these.
^____^ I have to say, I had an idea like this bouncing around in my head for a while, actually! I said earlier that in an AU Hetalia RP I'm in, I play Korea and have an on-and-off romance with Romano. Some wiki-fu found me the same information that you offered on the prompt and so a very small plot bunny was formed.
The three of them are marvelously fun to watch interacting, frankly. North Italy did help add in the cute moments, though South Korea fed off that and ran with it. I doubt that they ever would interact in canon, to be honest, except in one of the gag strips (like the German simulation)... I'm glad you liked it though!

One of my favorites in this entire meme, now, man. I wish I could shower you with more gay and praise - at least more eloquently. Ahhh. ♥
