America had no idea how he came to be kissing Russia, in Russia's country. He had come to visit Russia, maybe help him a bit. He had heard how wondrous Russia used to be, and that now he was just an insane, pitiful version of his former glory. But that didn't matter, under the gently swirling snow, with Russia's cold arms encircling him, and America's own hands on Ivan's chest. Russia was so cold, too cold to be real, and America could feel the icy touch seeping into him as Ivan rubbed his hands against Alfred's back. When America twined his fingers into Russia's hair (which felt like ice on the snow), and slid his hand under Ivan's ever-present scarf, Alfred could feel him shudder, and pull closer. America saw steam rising from him where Russia touched him, and he could feel Russia getting warmer as he got colder, but the clouds billowed up between them, fogging Alfred's glasses. Neither of them cared about the vapor that froze in the air, sifting down onto their hair and clothes. But both America and Russia knew that the embrace
