Memories drifted through his anxious mind as he prepared himself for possibly the most heart twisting moment of his life to date. He remembered every second of when he had first met little Lovino. The first thought was excited at being in charge of this bundle of cute, and the quickly following thought decided that looks and actions didn't always match. Lovino packed a punch.
Antonio tweaked his tie, decorated with a little tomato pattern. At first, he remembered, he'd wanted to switch Lovino for his adorable hard-working brother. After all, Lovino was demanding, lazy and expressed his hate for Antonio very clearly. He'd been very ungrateful. Then, Antonio smiles at the bittersweet memory flashing through his mind. Turkey taking his Lovino away. His little Lovino. He'd been very annoyed at Turkey for terrorizing his charge

“T-t-thanks…” Lovino took the bouquet, his soft fingers momentarily brushing the other’s, his breath catching at the contact. In an obviously desperate attempt to redeem himself, he indicated towards the restaurant. Antonio hid his worries on how things would pan out behind a smile, and followed obediently

I AM SO SORRY ANON. I was going to post another part shortly after, as I felt so guilty for leaving you all in such a moment... But then my internet broke, basically. ;_; I feel really bad now... I will try my best to bring the rest swiftly.Lovino sighed as he surveyed his current wardrobe. Antonio had just invited him to a restaurant for this evening, promising delicious pasta. Lovino could not turn down such an invitation, especially when he could hear ripples of tension distorting the Spaniard’s musical voice. He was unsure as to the cause, but the Italian was not so unkind to disappoint him when something clearly was not right

Lovino now stood outside the restaurant, so adrift in his current concerns of the quality of the pasta at this restaurant that he initially failed to notice Antonio turning up.
“Found this place alright then, I see.” He jumped, turning to see the familiar face. The nervousness still lingered in the other’s voice, and Lovino wondered if it was possible to attain the reason. Equally he was sure what the Spaniard wanted him to know he’d say in due time.
“Hmph. I guess so.” He replied, their eyes locked together for a long moment. Unable to take the intense emotions radiating from the other, he broke away awkwardly.
“These are for you.” The Spaniard offered a large bunch of red flowers. It took Lovino a moment to register the type, and another for the hidden message to slot into place. Suddenly the possible reason for the odd actions of the other man flashed through his mind, and he couldn’t help the heat burst across his face. This could be a long evening, he thought as he accepted the bouquet reluctantly, and motioned to move into

“I… What?” He frowned, then blanched. “The ring!” Antonio now fumbled in his pockets, blushing at his mistake. Lovino smiled to himself, despite the situation. The other had obviously gotten so worked up that he’d completely forgotten. He didn’t seem to be having much luck on finding it either, and his blush deepened. To see the Spaniard get embarrassed like this was unusual

Awwwwwww.
“You… Honestly! If you’re going to ask something... like that, haven’t you forgotten something?” Lovino managed, trying to sound much less embarrassed then he was. Hahahaha.

Antonio beamed, and taking the little box, tenderly grasped his hand, slipping one of the rings on. He glanced at Lovino expectantly, and he realized, flushing, that he needed to do the same. Taking the large hand into his own, he quickly pushed the other ring on, and pulled back. This romantic atmosphere was not his forte, and part of him wanted to run far, far away.
Shamefully, he realized another part of him wanted this. A very small part. He hated being around whenever Feliciano and Ludwig, that potato bastard, were together. They always acted so lovey-dovey, and that very small part of him wanted to be at the receiving end of romance, not just watching. He wanted to show his brother that he was loved too. All too often Lovino felt like the extra, the add-on, ignored in preference to his brother whom everybody loved.
Except with Antonio. At first he may have preferred Feliciano, but now he only looked at Lovino. And that very small part of Lovino liked that. He liked to feel needed
