US x UK -- UK's terrible cooking?

I want to see Arthur trying hard to make some good food, but after tasting it himself, still ultimately failing. So he decides to give his fail!food to Alfred anyway.
Alfred (maybe he saw how hard Arthur had tried to make it?) says it's not as bad as it usually is, or something about it not being terrible, even though it really is.
Arthur knows Alfred is faking it but is touched anyway. <3
They can be together or it can be UST....whatever anon decides!

America at eight wasn't really the brightest crayon in the box. To his defense, not a lot of eight-year-olds were probably very smart. But what he lacked in brains was something he made up for in brute strength and willpower

(Then again, America would eat anything England would cook after some bantering and bickering because he was a large sap. Deep inside.)
When England finally put food -- or something masquerading as food -- on white, ceramic plates, America decided to make his entrance and not prolong his misery any further.
"Hey there! I smelled something burning, so I thought that breakfast must be ready," he said with a bright grin.
"Oh hush," England said with a scowl.
"But, whoa, England, you've outdone yourself now. It looks a lot more potentially life-ending than the others you've cooked." He wanted to shut up, really, but taunting England had become such a (bad yet enjoyable) habit

OP's late reply is late. But I loved this and it was so adorable! Thank you so much for writing this, you have no idea how happy you made me! You had America perfectly! Set out to bravely eat but still felt the need to tease England. I love it!
