Anywhere between 1800s and modern time. US has just recovered from a VERY explosive breakup with someone who had a very blunt way with feelings, no sense of romance, etc.. UK starts courting her the old-fashioned way- flowers, nights at the opera, kisses on the hand, boxes of chocolates, etc. US has no experience with an old-fashioned lover, and tries to play along. Being expansionist, badass, tomboy America, she fails miserably.
Whether it ends in smut or not, anon just wants to see UK introducing Hurt!Fem!US to the ways of romance.

The scene with America emerging in a dress and striking England dumb - while NOT NOTICING and complaining bitterly every step of the way - is perhaps the most lolworthy part. My favorite at any rate. But the ending - that was d'awwwwwww, with her admitting he showed her something, and dancing in the rain, awwwwww.
(Also, the part where she remembers that no one tries to be tender with America, that everyone starts getting wild-eyed if she gets too close, was heartugging)

This was such a sweet story~ My favorite parts were the one with the rose and the ending. The ending was wonderful, and I loved how they danced in the rain. England tried very hard, didn't he?

This anon rarely ever reads Het stories, but dammit author anon, this was amazing. I was crying along with America when she discovered the rose on her pillow, why do you toy with my emotions so. This seemed amazingly in character and the point is, I love you Author!anon.

An Affair to Remember

Matthew Williams, also known as Canada (more or less), was worried. Really, really worried.
His sister had shown up last night at his house, crying. For the first two hours he was unable to calm her down or get any information from her and had been about to start crying himself, when she ran into his kitchen and gorged herself on his ice cream. Perhaps it was the sugar overload or maybe she was just dead tired from all the crying she’d done, or maybe it was a combination of both, but it didn’t take long for her to fall asleep on his island.
Matthew sighed and took her to one of the guest rooms. He’d talk to her tomorrow.
!!!!
She looks better Matthew thought as he watched his sister shuffle about his house. She wasn’t crying, so that was good, but she still wasn’t talking either. He had been planning to have breakfast with someone else, but had called to call it off because he really didn’t trust Alice alone right now
