Anon apologizes for the lack of requested on-screen sexing up here, and the fact that I know absolutely nothing about Canadian provincial history. Hope that it’s enjoyable anyway. (Ah, by the way, does anyone happen to have a human name for Ukraine lying around?)
Taking Responsibility [1/?]
“What did you just say?!”
“I said, Ukraine is pregnant and I’m the father,” moaned Canada into his hands, partially to mask his burning shame and partially to wipe off the beer that America had spat into his face.
Said twin was still staring at him, clutching the half-empty glass of Samuel Adams in one hand and the edge of his barstool with the other. The thick panes of his glasses masked whether his eyes were wide in surprise, shock, horror or all three.
“Dude,” he said, and then, for extra emphasis, he said it again. “Dude!”“I heard you the first time!” Canada

And another note, the name Yekaterina is also used for her because Katyusha is a tender diminutive for the name Katya, a nickname of Yekaterina.
According to my Russian source, who isn't Ukrainian by any means so this could be different for them, the tender diminutive used only by family members, usually the mother, and very close friends, like lovers. In general, one refers to others by their family names or their patronymics (Ivanovich, Ivanova, Aleksandrovich, Aleksandrova/ovna) if they're not close enough to be on a first-name or nickname basis.

Canada woke the next morning to the pleasant warmth in his bed and the not-so-pleasant ringing of the telephone. He rolled over and squinted at clock beside his bed. It was 6:30. He groaned. “What kind of idiot would call this early in the morning?”
The answer to his question popped into his head just seconds before the answering machine picked up. “Heeey, bro!”
“Oh, lord,”
“Just thought I’d check in on you, make sure you got your girl settled in all right.” America chuckled, as though he knew that Canada would blush at that comment, which he was. “Not that you wouldn’t, of course. You’re pretty damn reliable when it comes to that sortta thing. Just thought I’d touch base. Remember, if you ever need anything, just give me a call. Later!”
Click. The answering machine clicked off. Canada groaned again, yawned, rolled over, came face-to-face with Ukraine and nearly fell out of bed. He’d completely forgotten that they were sharing not only a house, but a room and bed, just like a ma…mar

“Still,” she lowered her eyes to the promising bump in her stomach. “If you’ve only reached out to me now because be you feel responsible…”
“Katyusha,” Canada said slowly, choosing his words with care. He reached with his free hand and brushed a bit of hair away from her cheeks, taking note of how soft her skin was to the touch. “I want to take care of you. Both of you. If anything happened to you, I don’t think I could forgive myself. You’re…very important to me

One more post before this part of the meme gets full, ne?A month after their move, the weather saw fit to grant them a beautiful day just as they were both starting to get a little stir-crazy from being in the house for so long. America dropped by for a visit once or twice, as had France and England, but the occasional bit of company wasn’t quite enough to offset the cabin fever

Those words again. Something in the back of Canada’s mind told him that they were important, that they meant something wonderful, maybe even life-changing. But that part was drowned out by silence as sleep claimed him and put an end his consciousness for the afternoon
